I sent him an email, but haven't heard back yet.

I was just on Chris's site last week and it worked - and the most recent update was from, I believe, the week before.

I ahven't given up on my site. But with my last web hosting provider, the site was going down all the time, so i am in the mid's of trying to find another provider, but this time perferably a canadian web hosting company. Anybody recomend a good provider?

I find most canadian web hosts are very expensive, I know a good one based in canada, but I think all the servers are in the US.

Godaddy.com. Also not Canadian but very reliable and affordable with a variety of packages and payment options.

I think i will go with powweb (they offer the most web space) and i need lots.

I tried registering on the weekend, but for some reason it says my domain name is already registered.... gotta look into this.....

Your domain is already registered... to you. When you sign up, there are two options:

Register a new domain name.
$15 a year for .net, .org, .com, .biz, .name, .info, or .us **
Free domain name with Yearly and Bi-Yearly packages.

or

I own this domain name or will register it myself.

Choose the second option.

Once you complete the registration, they will give you the NameServer addresses that you need in order to get things moving. Then you go back to where you registered your domain name, and change the registration info to reflect your new DNS info (Domain Name Server).

do you have a date (approxiamately) when your site will be back up?

I would recommend AGAINST godaddy, overall i haven't been impressed with their services. I do .NET programming and they've blocked a group of functions and classes that I use in nearly all my web applications. Same thing for PHP, there are functions that they've blocked, some for obvious reasons, others for not so obvious reasons....

I'm not sure if the more expensive packages have them open but those aren't worth it for what I need. Also their control panel sucks compared to many other providers. Good news is that my contract with them ends in november.

I'll be going with webhost4life.com when I switch. A couple of my clients use them and from what I've seen they've got it right.

Any progress on the relaunch of Hipcovers.com?
