ok..i said i wouldn't watch it, but it's pretty good..rock star inxs...and last night, one of the contestants gave me chills..check out jordis doin the bowie classic....

I'm the biggest reality show whore I know and I like the show alot...except for Brooke "my boobs are fake" Burke and...well actually...INXS. She is just horrible. Dave Navarro should have been the solo host..he's quite good in front of the camera. The guys in INXS are awfully full of themselves and there has been surprisingly little mention of their first singer. The house band rocks...i"d pay to see them.
I'm surpeised the canada contingen here (hmm that's EVERYONE) isn't talking about the three canooos from Toronto who are still in it. Deena from Kingston is good, JD is an Elvis impersinator punk...but I agree Jordis is the hands down best vocalist. However; my money is on Mig. He's got a 3rd degree Kevin Bacon thing going with his footloose dancing style, but come on...he's austrailian...he'll dig the vegamite in the trailers.
i think mig has it as well, not that i think he's the best singer, but probably the best fit for the band...agreed about burke...useless...but dave is fun to watch, and as for inxs themselves...i'm not sure it they're full of themselves, but yes...agreed they should pay more tribute to michael...still on a whole much better than i thought it would be..but jordis...she deserves a record deal...perhaps with that houseband as her own!!

i love the fact that dave navarro is married to caremen electra but he is still a huge flirt :lol:

watched it again last night, she did the encore, and she did it just as well...i played the cliip on my show yesterday and people were blown away...the phone lines lit up wanting to know who she was...i'm thinking she's gonna be a star no matter what now...

She does have a good voice, I agree. My thing is this- these people should have to make it in music like other great bands have. Nirvana happened naturally; they didn't go on a tv show singing karoake. Bowie is the same. I CANNOT rank a glorified karaoke singer ahead of REAL MUSICIANS WHO MADE IT THE HARD WAY! There's more to music than a VOICE. Personally, I could care less how great their voices are. Celine Dion is supposed to have an astounding voice but her music does nothing for me. Bob Dylan and Neil Young consistently sing off key, and yet they are two of the greatest singers of our times. They have substance. I don't see any substance when I watch the INXS show.
Bowie's version is the best because HE CREATED IT! Nirvana's version is GREAT!! Jordis is just someone who likes the song and wants to be famous IMO. It doesn't compare.
Sorry people. I just can't respect these singers. They have it too easy. I think musicians should pay their dues.
she writes her own music...and hopefully one day we'll hear more of it..all these singers have been in bands, they've paid dues...and jordis is a passionate singer..she's got 'it'....did you really compare her to celine dion? please....jordis has more passion in her fingernail than celine has in her entire body...

for one thing, if she'd sang it on idol, she wouldn't have had that band backing her up....and secondly, she's way too good for that show...and as i've mentioned, i think the 2 shows are different... so i probably wouldn't have the same opinion
