One not mentioned yet:
Pink Floyd - The Piper at the Gates of Dawn
Oh, and:
The Tragically Hip - Up to Here
The EP doesn't count. That was their first album.

The Hip- Up to Here (when you think about it, this really was their first "album", as the EP was just that- an EP)
Lowest of the Low- Shakespeare, My Butt
Pearl Jam- Ten
Guns N' Roses- Appetite for Destruction
The Doors- The Doors
Zeppelin 1
54-40- Green Album
Cowboy Junkies- The Trinity Session
Counting Crows- August and Everything After (still one of the coolest albums ever)
The Weakerthans- Fallow
The Watchmen- McLaren Furnace Room

I have to agree with Up To Here as their first "album" so it would definitely have been on my list. I love that album, there's not a bad song on it, its gold. :thumb:
And I almost put "Bleach" on my list Lance, but I wanted to leave some for others...

Great topic...spent 30 minutes on this..
My Top 5- no particular order
The Cops- Outlandos d'Amour
Violnt Femmes- s/t
Live- Mental Jewlery
Counting Crows- August
Blind Melon-s/t
Van Halen – Van Halen
Indogo Girls- s/t
and I'm as huge a zep fan as you Opiated...but the debut was poorly produces to say the least. A mojority of the songs were covers and they didn't even knoweach other...it's a classic none the less...

You're a good man...I was hoping someone would pull this one out. I think it may be one of, if not the best debut ever.
Gotta agree with Naveed as well. It was in non-stop rotation in my CD player for almost a year.

A lot of people agree that The Doors first album was an amazing debut, and rightly so..but also on the flip side, their swan song album LA Woman is (imo) one of the best ever, not only was it their swan song album but it was their best album as well..I just thought Id mention it.
