What do you think of this list? I was surprised (but very pleased) that 38 Years Old cracked the list. As for the others, obvious choices?

38 Years Old? Surprised; really? This is many a casual fans favorite song, methinks. Quite honestly, the top 10 list didn'l surprise me at all, to be honest.
in order I would rate them

lack of new hip on the list.
It's not really surprising...and its not that bad of a list either...
Nautical is generally considered one of their greatest artistic accomplishments, Wheat Kings is as poignant as they get, and Little Bones is probably close to their rock apex...
sure, i would have enjoyed seeing cordelia or IOD, or Direwolf or Springtime up there, but to be realistic, it was showcased on the sympatico site, any jerk who came across it could vote, so all that being said, be grateful the top 10 wasnt 8 tracks from Fully Completely plus blow and NOIS.
p.s. Locked was robbed.

I have to agree with that too! Im surprised that Poets didn't make that list

cratch: I wasn't to crazy about that sympatico poll anyways, does anyone think they would put "Im a werewolf baby" on the cd if it got the most votes? Either way its a good list and pretty close to what I expected, although its not even close to what mine would be.
They said in the email that all 34 tracks were chosen through that poll....
I'm quite interested to see what the others were. I think there might be some surprises....maybe even something from the first record.

If they really did it that way, I'll be shocked. It goes back to my earlier point about the "what if" factor with online polls, unlikely yes, but there is the possibility that some of the so called "lesser-liked" songs ie: werewolf, killing time, coconut cream or butts wigglin got a ton of votes then would they still put them on the album? Even if it meant a song like Lake Fever or Gift Shop had to be left off? Maybe Im reaching here..Ill drop it. Im just surprised they would do it that way is all.

Uh... I'll guess 38, since they don't play it live because of this:
<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.geocities.com/stephendame/38.html">http://www.geocities.com/stephendame/38.html</a><!-- m -->
Otherwise, I'm stumped. What are 10 songs they've never played in my kitchen?

38 Years Old?
Yup...not too difficult, eh?
I'd estimate that I've seen them perform NOIS 30+ times; Blow, Courage, Nautical 25+ times; Grace, Bobcaygeon, Nautical, ABAC 20+ times; Wheat Kings 15+ times....
and have never seen 38 Years Old.....a shame, but I understand why not....

Classic Cheers line that I quote all the time. Ken Jennings even used it during his streak!
Maybe the boys will take a hint and start playing 38 years old again
