What a great hour of music. For those of you that like Wilco, or Jeff Tweedy, you would have loved the set he played at the Calgary Folk Fest last night. He went on about 9:05 and played until 10:10, which is obviously very short when I paid $45 just to see him, but it was worth every penny.

Highlights from the set

New Madrid (Uncle Tupelo song)
Bob Dylan's 49th Beard (Wilco B-sde from More Like The Moon EP)
I Am Trying To Break Your Heart
Sunken Treasure
I'm The Man That Loves You
Late Greats
Muzzle of Bees

and a very interesting acoustic version of Spiders (Kidsmoke)

I flew out to Vancouver to see Wilco last winter and it was awesome, but this was the perfect compliment, seeing a very raw stripped down version of the songs that are so complex and dynamic when played with the whole band.

Great show, anyone else go and if so what did you think?

Stickboy (Jesse)
I was there as well last night. Great show, I only wish he could have played longer, an hour was far too short.

Love Wilco live and seeing Tweedy by himself with just the guitar, a harmonica and that incredible voice was just stellar.

Can't wait to catch wilco/tweedy again.
Great news for me today at work. There's a seminar I have to attend out in Vancouver on Jan. 31st which is cool on it's own cause I can go visit some friends and hang out in Vancouver for a day or two. But to top it off it just so happens that Tweedy starts off his little solo tour in Vancouver that night and I was able to grab a couple tickets.

Nice!! Can't wait to see him again, hopefully we'll get a preview of some new Wilco tunes and he'll play a bit longer than at the Folk festival.
