Hi,

I went to see Wintersleep last night at a bar in Victoria here. I have to say that it was one of the best concerts I've witnessed. I'm tempted to say best concert ever. So if you get a chance, go check these guys out, they're amazing. They're on their way across canada right now. You wont be dissapointed.

Oh yeah, they're the openers so if you go, be there on time. They're touring with Sylvie (also awesome) and Uncut (meh). Super nice guys, check out the website:

looky looky, THE GREATER CITY OF SUDBURY, HOLDIN IT DOWN! THE ONLY CITY ON THE TOUR GETTING 2 SHOWS! methinks i'll attend both
Wintersleep are pretty good, and I hate everything Wink
The guy's voice reminds me of Hayden a lot...but the band is better IMHO.
It seems like everything involed with Dependant Records is quite good. Jill Barber is another great singer from the coast.
Amen!

If you can get out to one of the shows by all means DO IT! These guys are phenomenall live, and you might get a chance to hear one of there new unrecorded tunes "weighty ghost" (this one will defintely be a hit when recorded) and who knows maybe we'll see them on roadside for next year!

As for depenedent, need I say more than Contrived's new album Dead Air Verbatim, that thing will knock you socks right the fuck off

Wow, Wintersleep on roadside? That would blow people away, these guys will gain their reputation as a live band. The albums are great, don't get me wrong, but they don't do the live show justice.

Is the whole dependent label based on bands from around halifax? They seem to have quite the scene out there these days.

I playi in a band with Brian Borcherdt called Holy Fuck...we tells me of all the great bands from out there. He's from there (NS), in case you were wondering why I brought it up. Brian's on Dependant, too. I love that new Wintersleep record...
pretty much all the bands have at least a connection to the halifax area...Brian Borcherdt, and two of the guys from Wintersleep basically run the label..

Oh and if you like the wintersleep record, check out Kary. They hardly ever do shows but album is great

I actually have the Kary record but haven't given it a fair shake yet. I will get it into rotation, thanks.
