Never liked the guy (of course he was a Red Wing for a long time, and when they were in the same division as the Leafs they were Public Enemy #1, in my opinion)... but gee I hope he gets over his addictions and legal problems and cleans himself up. But I'm not very optimistic he'll be able to do this.

You know, he really is a good guy. I was really sad to see the hawks let him go, and he went back to his addictions. I read a piece the trib did on him years ago, about how he had recovered from his coke/booze addictions and how devoted he was to his daughter. I've always like the guy. Never forget 1995 stanley cup; wings/devils. Probie had been traded to the hawks earlier that year, but was row one behind the wing bench at game one. Class guy. I remember a time when anyone fucked with Stevie Y would incurr the rath of probie.

A lot of these guys - guys who have been admired for beating the snot out of other people since they were 15 - simply have trouble adjusting to the real world. It's too bad, but it goes all the way back to Brian "Spinner" Spencer, John Kordic, et al.
