I've only been able to compile a short list of songs by other artists which feature a member of The Hip. I know I must be missing some. Anybody know of any other cameo appearances?
- Land by Daniel Lanois: Downie lent vocals to this track.
- The Right Thing by Tom Wilson: Sinlcair co-wrote and plays on this track which appears on 2001's "Planet Love"
- The Streets Where You Live by The Buried Heart Project: Gord grinds out a vocal treatment for the cause.
- Radio Plays by The HDRC: Paul appears and produced the HDRC album.
I consider "Silver Road" a cover, since the whole band backs Sarah on the original 'Men With Brooms' version, and obviously Gord and Bobby's side projetcs are in a different category.
Just wondering if there are anymore instances of Hip members appearing on other albums?
johnny played drums and produced the album the hellfire club by The Mahones..pretty good disc
Gord Downie
- appears on Mae Moore's Bohemia, the song "The Wish".
- appears on Julie Doiron's album Heart and Crime.
The 2 Gords appear on Linda McRae's Flying Jenny.
Gord Sinclair
- plays bass on "Too Close to the Sun" on David Usher's Morning Orbit.
- plays bass on Shaye's album Bridge.

Sinclair played on Shaye's album?? Wow, didn't know that. How did that connection happen? Stockwood is from NFLD, Tara Maclean from PEI, and Doyle is from the maritimes too isn't she? Interesting.
As far as Hip collaborations, they hooked up with the Ron Sexsmith and the Rheostatics in a rare bootleg entitled "Take Me in Your Hand". Another popular bootleg was recorded with the Tragically Hip teaming up with Andrew Cash to preform his song called "Hey Maria".
Paul plays rhythm guitar and even lets loose with a rockin' solo on a live version of Chris Brown & Kate Fenner's "Vanishing Points". It appears on Chris & Kate's Great Lakes Bootleg disc, which I don't think is available anymore. I'm glad I bought it when I did.
Very cool stuff, thanks folks.
I've got "Hey Maria" listed as a cover performance since the whole band plays it with Cash, similar to "Silver Road" with Sarah. But I totally forgot about "Take Me In Your hand," I loved that, haven't heard it in years.
Who plays with Murray McLaughlin on the song Northern Wind? I heard that song for the first time when Dana made it available on his website, excellent song! :thumb:
Can somebody confirm whether Gord Downie alos joined the Rheos for a version of Soul Glue? I've seen it floating around on the net, but the version I have doesnt have GD performing.

Here's what I've got on the site:
Northern Wind: Murray McLaughlin song played by Gord D. and Paul on CBC Swinging on a Star program, 1992.
Same gig as Get Back Again and the gorgeous version of Pigeon Camera IIRC.
^ and Gord sang backup for Sarah Craig on I Feel Guilt on the same program

Gord Sinclair co-produced James McKenty and the Spades debut album titled "Burning on Fumes".
I believe he laid down an acoustic guitar track on the song 'Bring Down". :thumb:
Rob Baker performed on Hell Billys - "Tied to a Rocket"
