I think that all the shows I upload are worth the download, but some don't; so to save any aggravation, I've put together a little preview file.

As well, is Rob playing "Every Irrelevance" or "Take Me In Your Hand" at the 3:45 mark?

I think that it's better than night one as the sound and picture are superior. As well, there are 3 camera angles for this show. Furthermore, I think that I've improved as an author/editor since the last one, and I hope it shows.

Let me know what you think.
Chris,

The camera transitions look really good and having 3 angles is just amazing. The audio sounds really really good. The only thing I noticed is the picture looks a little grainy with lots of little squares. Maybe it's because it's just a sample avi file and not the real thing. Other than than, it's AWESOME!!

Thanks. The graininess is as a result of the super compression I had to use. The original DV file for that single song is 1Gb, and I compressed it down to 45mb. My DivX encoder is giving me grief, so I had to use an old version Cleaner that I had, and it's avi compression isn't as clean.

The DVD is super sharp, as all the tapes and all of the transfers were digital.
since the Dv files are so big, i assume you are going to spread this over 2 dvd's?

how come you also make the shows i disc? wouldn't it be better fopr some shows if they weren't compressed so much?

Since the recording gear (new/old, high end/low end) , recording modes (SP or LP), media (MiniDV, Hi8, Digital8, VHS) lighting conditions and skill orf the person recording vary so greatly, coupled with the fact that none of the shows last more than 2 hours, in my opinion there is no real benefit to spreading the show over 2 discs.

In some cases a show might appear better on some TVs if it weren't compressed as much, by in most cases I don't think it will matter. There are many tapers/traders who argue otherwise, but as then tend to be strictly tapers or traders, and not authors/distributors I think that their perspective is slightly skewed.

Note: The file size has been almost the same for all of the shows that I've produced as they are all ripped to my hard drive in DV format.
Here are some screen captures from this DVD. I'll get it posted in the next few days. Despite the slight grainy appearance of these captures, the DVD is crisp/sharp...

Enjoy!
