It says in news releases that CTV is showing the entire Canadian show. Will they be taking commercial breaks and cutting out certain songs? Or because it's a charity show they'll be showing the whole thing straight through?

Nick
There's always commercials..
I doubt the network would give up an entire day's revenue, nor should they be expected to imho. You'll probably have to put up with the commercials. All you can hope for is that the commercials are intelligently placed in the broadcast!
It's owned by AOL, what do you think???

**biting lip**
((don't talk about huge stadiums shows, don't talk about huge, commercial, money laden stadium shows..))

Oh, it's all for a good cause.. Confusedcratch:
After each act, there is always a break to ready the stage for the next band. Doubtless, CTV will then cut away for some commercials. I'll bet we get to see all the songs, though.
Was Sarstock commercial free? I think i remember Much, the CBC and CTV all aired it but i think CBC had far more coverage....I'm prayin they air it alll........
Has anyone found a website/link that will tell me the times each band will be performing?

More importantly, what time will the boys be on?

AOL doesn't own CTV.
This is an excerpt from a newspaper article in The Detroit News (6-27-05), pg. 6C:

America Online Inc. will make the majority of its content available without a subscription starting Tuesday.

Initially, the newly free AOL will be in a test version, accessible by clicking a link at AOL.com, allowing the company to iron out any glitches. That will be followed by an updated version scheduled to go live in July, with the official launch set for August.

AOL will support the formal unveiling with a full campaign of marketing and promotional activities. It also will stream all five of the Live 8 concerts being held July 2, then make the videos available on-demand for six weeks, further drawing attention to the removal of subscription fees.

"Obviously, we had nothing to do with the timing of Live 8, but in terms of timing, it's pretty good," AOL chairman and CEO Jonathan Miller says.

AOL is also my Internet Service Provider. Yesterday, I received an e-mail from AOL confirming the information contained in the newspaper article I qouted. I signed up for further alerts from AOL concerning the streaming of the Live 8 shows. I will pass along any links I receive.
