i dunno, i think SD woulda been the best era to see them in, i saw em in 96 at MLG, and it was pretty freakin cool to hear oldies like Silverfuck, Mayonaise, Today, Cherub Rock, Disarm, and Siva, not to mention all the MCIS material. They even had Jimmy frog come out and do "She's Some Kind Of Wonderful" with them :lol:.

I was fortunate to see them on the SD tour, just as they were breaking huge. They did about 5 encores. It was an incredible experience, one of my top 5 concerts ever. 8)

I didn't even have a chance to see the Pumpkins till Summersault, and when I finally did they played an abridged set with a grand total of three songs from SD/MCIS. Which is fine, I guess--I love all their stuff, including the MACHINA albums--but I'd commit bloody murder to hear "Thru the Eyes of Ruby" live. Here's hoping Billy's volatile enough to regroup, even though he's sworn he'll never play their stuff live ever again. :mrgreen:
Can't wait for the solo album, btw--tres pumped.

Get Zwan back together. That was an amazing fuckin record and I want to see Zwan live again because it was a great show (except for QOTSA who opened)
no man, i'm telling you, this new shit is wicked, it sounds about exactly where the Pumpkins should've been after Machina II. Don't get me wrong, i like Zwan, but i think Corgan's at his best with the doom and gloom, with a shot of hopeless romanticism shot in for god measure, and that's what appears to be on the table with this new album.
I dont disagree with you TDC, but Billy Corgan just isnt on my radar screen anymore, after SP's split I completely lost interest, maybe I'll give it a listen, but to be honest I have every SP album on my shelf and I almost never listen to them, like Nirvana, it just doesnt sound the same anymore. All that angst ridden, hoplessness doom and gloom your talking about doesnt appeal to me anymore. And nothing seems to "wow" me in the music industry anymore, other than my favorite bands putting out new albums year after year, there's nothing else making me jump out of my seat, maybe Im the only one here but dare I say: maybe rock and roll is dying? (good rock and roll mind you) I mean who's gonna carry the torch into the next 20 years when U2, The Hip, Pearl Jam, Coldplay, Tea Party, REM, Blue Rodeo, Metallica, Oasis, AC/DC, Foo Fighters and all the rest are gone? Who, the Killers? God help us all.

Mr. Corgan just happens to be a gloomy gus, and honestly, it's good for his art, he's better at channeling negative emotions into great art than he is positive emotions.
ps: Oasis suck, they always have, and the only flag they ever carried was the flag for drunken idiots that don't give a rat's ass about anyone/thing but themselves and just want to ride the gravy train and live a lavish lifestyle...
Coldplay? haha, you could've at least said Radiohead, or QOTSA, or even Matt Good. Coldplay are radio fodder.
Metallica lost my interest when they turned into greedy corporate rock whoores...
The Tea Party really need to get back to business and quit worrying about trying to produce hits and just get back to creating masterpieces like they used to, or they will soon lose my interest too..
my point wasn't so much about those specific bands, if you wanted to substitiute a band for another thats fine, Oasis have lots of fans and are very popular thats why I named them, most of those bands I mentioned are some of the biggest in the world, the point is where are we headed when these bands eventually dissapear like Zeppelin, theDoors, Pink Floyd, The Beatles and The Who before us. Or whoever you think is huge, thats what Im driving at.
