Yea these are really great events. They start at 5:30 at a central downtown location and pack in crowds anywhere from 15-30 thousand. (45,000 once) The show is free and beers are like $2.50 Its a great time. People typically walf a few blocks down to chippewa st. after the show to pack 15 or so bars on that street. Gord did his solo thing a few years back there and it was great.
Not to go off topic here, but I think I'm going to miss being able to go to all the ethnic and summer festivals that happen in Milwaukee when I graduate and move to the East Coast

I always hoped they would be, they are one of the worst "popular" bands of all time.

Can't wait for Sam, if i can't have the Hip this summer, Sam will at least get my blodd flowin.

.thats a wicked double bill of Sam Roberts and Matt Mays&ET - i might make the trip down for that one thanks for posting the line up i was looking for it a couple weeks ago. been to thurs in the square once before for Gord Downie ,hawksley workman and cuff the duke its a great set up they have going in downtown buffalo

I was stoked when I saw the moe. show.
Then I realized that it is not at Thursday in the Square but rather Friday down on the waterfront.
Eh, I am still going though.
I just realized that I'd be back home for the Lowest of the Low show! Awesome!
I usually only get back home once a summer and when I go down to one of the Thursday in the Square shows I run into all my old pals and a very fun kick-off to the weekend ensues.

I think SR and MM&ET are good buddies...I remember Sam Roberts' guitar player was wearing a MM&ET t-shirt while they played on the Jay Leno show back in the fall....I like how a lot of these guys look out for one another when the opportunity arises..ie wearing a tshirt..stuff like that
