It's definitely been a good time to be a resident of Ottawa lately....we've had a number of pretty big name shows roll through lately and many more to come in the next few months...

Like em' or hate em' in terms of the above bands..they're all pretty big names, and for a town that has been habitually screwed over time and time again for concert stops, things sure have changed.
I'll be looking forward to seeing the rather unfortunately acronymed BJ Armstrong and the rest of his Green Day cronies when they swing through town this year.

I heard today that the Stones will be playing the Saddledome later this year. Personally I'd rather give myself paper cuts between my toes than see the Stones live, but they're a pretty big name, so I guess it's cool they're coming to Calgary. It paves the way for other big shows in the future.
I remember we also had U2 (twice) back in '01, and Springsteen played here in 2002. Not too shabby for what was once a pretty small concert market. Big-name acts used to avoid this city like the plague, but things have definitely changed over the last few years. As we edge closer to 1 million in population, the concert industry can't ignore us any longer, and it's great to see so many big names rolling through town. Only 3 1/2 months til Pearl Jam!!!
