I was listening to some shows yesturday. The shows where from the early years, you can hear people cheering and such. Then Gord goes on a crazy rant, then you don't really hear anything? I can just picture the crowd looking at Gord like is a escaped mental patent.

I don't think the "true fans" think he's crazy. When it comes to the rants, I think a lot of people quiet down, to try and hear what he's actually saying, I know I try to listen in during the rants at live shows. But as far as the "non-fans", yeah they probably think he's messed up. I even got a guy who works with me who claims he heard Gord hasn't done a show either sober or not high in his life, and he actually believes that. Will they ever learn?????

That poor, poor man. Some people just will believe anything.
Well, anyone who has seen footage from Woodstock 99 can make a good case for themselves that Gord is in fact, absolutely nuts. I wouldn't want a show any other way. Off the stage he is a very mellow individual, just dedicated to creating great songs and giving the fans their moneys worth. Thats why Gord is one of the best out there!

I know many people who think he is absolutely nuts. However, all that matters is true hip fans love the rants and the totally off the wall comments. For those who where at the MYE 1999 show, remember Gord went on a mission and popped every ballon on stage during 100 Meridian? For a non fan he sure did look nuts that night.
That is what makes him one of the BEST stage performers out there!! I mean DMB is my favorite band of all time but I would rather see Gord perform (than Dave) because Gord is so much more entertaining and wild

yeah, he's not crazy, I think he's just becomes one with the music and tunes everything else out. He doesn't care if he looks stupid and most people love it. It's great.

I don't think he's crazy. My other half does though. I think Gord is truly a unique person in the musical sense. What he does and how he expresses himself on stage is pure genius. His lyrics and rants are not just strung together words, he tells a story, mostly on the fly. Ever play a NOIS rant for someone who hasn't heard them before and you'll either get "That guy is nuts" or "Haha, that's pretty cool!" Mostly the latter.

To agree with nearly everyone, the true fans such as ourselves know he's not crazy, but unfortunately, when mild fans who think he's crazy listen to a bit of his solo stuff, especially stuff like "Heartache in your social life" and "Who by Rote" it doesn't do much to convince them otherwise. F them tho, Gord's endless stream of creativity is part of what fuels this band, and fuels the true fans...
