I received an e-mail from the Sarnia Bayfest announcing that The Tragically Hip will play on July 17, 2005 with The Spades and Death of Eight. Finger Eleven plays an afternoon concert at the same venue and then The Hip play at night.
Go to the following link for more info. The date for the sale of tickets is not announced yet. (Don't The Hip have a date scheduled the day before in PEI?)

I received an e-mail saying check out the website for announcement of the bands for 2005 and became excited when I saw The Hip. Again, I apologize for the mistake.

:lol: an honest mistake. I have serious doubts the Hip will be there again. If they do I hope they fix the sound problems from last time, it was terrible.

Too true, I wasnt impressed that day, it was probablyt the worst Hip show Ive ever been to, and that has nothing to do with the band, overall it was a bad day. I would be hard for me to not go, but I dont think I'll ever go back to bayfest again.
I was front row both times they came to Bayfest. What ruined it for me the second time were the fucking security guards "cooling down the fans with water"
I was fucking drenched and cold by the end of the show.
bayfest is brutal, went the last 2 times the hip were around, was also near the front and HOLY SHIT its so poorly organized and the people are fucking stupid.
i agree that both years have been horrible...the first year with that stupid fence to seperate the drinkers from the minors was idiotic along with the fact they sold a couple extra thousand tickets without telling the hip, who found out just before they went on and almost left...last year was just a bad scene with all the drunk and stoned 16 year olds everywhere...its really a shame since both shows have started off with a lot of promise and had decent setlists but after the first 4 or 5 songs the hip seem to realize that 75% of the people arent there to listen or because they like but just because there is a rock concert in their home town with gives them an excuse to acts like idiots

You're wrong on this one. Considering the first time they came to Sarnia their show sold out, and noone else's did, I think they realize people are coming to see them play, not just because their is a rock concert

I busted out laughing when I saw that :lol: Not much of a lineup this year, which is fine because it would take some serious bands to make me go back. I cant stand Kid Rock, but it should be an interesting weekend, Ive seen 3DD and Staind before, not bad. The best concert rumour I heard today on the radio was that Foo Fighters might be touring with Weezer, that I have to see.

I had heard that as well. As someone who has seen both bands a couple of times now - that would be an absolutely rockin' show!
