I counted 6 on the first try but I am no genius, I can assure you that. I think because you prefaced it by saying that it got you I tried harder and went slowly through it.

I counted 6 on the first try but I am no genius, I can assure you that. I think because you prefaced it by saying that it got you I tried harder and went slowly through it.
i am a genius and i only counted 3
damn it!
I got 5....TWICE even after I knew the answer. What does that make me? I missed the second 'of' both times.
I got 3... And I knew there had to be a trick, and I still got 3, after reading thru it slowly 3 times... That just blew my mind.

I got 17 but i was counting E's cause technically they have an F in them and i figured it was some trick...

There are six F's in the sentence.
A person of average intelligence finds three of them.
If you spotted four, you're above average.
If you got five, you can turn your nose at most anybody.
If you caught six, you are a genius.
There is no catch.
Many people forget the "OF"'s.
The human brain tends to see them as V's and not F's.
