I hope the hip play ARA this summer. It doesn't matter who plays with them as long as they play two sets.
Matt Mays and El Torpedo without a doubt, along with Sam Roberts.......who combined already make for an amazing show. They kicked ass in Halifax last year with Matt and the boys opening for Sam. Amazing shows!
Then I would go with,
Joel Plaskett
The Arcade Fire
The Trews
Wintersleep......a fantastic east coast band who put on a great show!
And yeah, as someone said before...Led Zeppelin! Dang. That would be sweet.
James Mckenty & The Spades
The Sadies
The Trews
Blue Rodeo
The Trews
Buddy Wasisname and the Other Fellers
Arcade Fire
Hawksley Workman
Ian Tyson. That'd be great.
Laid back, smoky, meaningful:
Mike O'Neill/Inbreds
The Sadies
Lanois
Sarah Harmer
Blue Rodeo with a special Gordie Lightfoot appearance (he's touring again)
and then them
Dead Red (celtic-punk sort of band. really good. one of the members plays a big role in the cideo for pascal's submarine)
Sam Roberts
Joel Plasket Emergency
Elevator (The remainders of Eric's Trip)
Rush
and TTH
Sam Roberts
The Trews
Pearl Jam (even tho so impossible)
The Hip
Emily Fennell band (outta Kingston)
HDRC
Weeping Tile
JMATS
The HIP
The HIP with Charlie Musslewhite
The HIP again
Oh yeah and
Sam Roberts
:jump
Although all of these have been noted in various lists already I'd love to see the following:
Joel Plaskett
Matt Mays
James McKenty & the Spades
Blue Rodeo
... and that Hip band everyone seems to like.
Since when has ARA been all canadian.... never, pretty much everyone is putting up an all canadian line up. why is that?
