Looks like they also forgot about selling out the Saddledome in Calgary twice. If I end up seeing them, I guess it'll have to be either Portland or Salt Lake City.
I'm surprised they are coming to Ottawa, but I think I have a Smartie's chance at a fat camp of getting tickets..... After the scalpers get their 50% of them.......
I couldn't give 2 craps about U2. Would this group just stop playing music?!?!?
They're so good to their fans they charge like $167 for tickets in Toronto. Gimme a break.

Hmm, actually floor seats for the show are $49.50. That is pretty fair I think.
I can't believe they're coming to Ottawa!
A radio station here had a petition going, and then Paul Martin called into the station and said he'd try to get them to come here.... and.... I guess he did! :thumb:
I'll pay the $50 for tix.... but not more than that.
Does anybody else find it sad that the Prime Minister can get Bono (or some lackey from his entourage) on the phone but can't get George Bush to pick up the telly!!!!
I'll pass on the U2...just never been my thing I guess, but I must say that $49.50 is a pretty decent price for floor seats.
Goulet!!!

C'mon, the call was a good natured gimmick. Besides, if a Liberal PM is pissing off Republicans, I'd say he's doing a job on the policy side. And ya know Bono's got better stories to tell than Dubbya anyway.
Papers today confirmed that the CHUM radio petition was what did it. Paul just got some good press out of it.
Seeing as how Bono said he'd "pester his ass" non stop if he didn't keep his promises to Africa, I'll be interested to see if they have another cheery meeting at the Lord Elgin this time around.

that may seem fair at first, but when you look closely at it, it's 165 bucks for lower bowl seats, and 100 bucks for nosebleeds..rip off

Oh I realize there are higher priced tickets. My point was at least there are a good chunk of seats at a decent price. They dont have to do that.
Rip off, sure to many it is. But they will have no problem selling out and put on a great show.
Also, I find it funny that people may say 100 for nosebleeds is a rip off for U2 who is playing in Toronto for the first time in over 4 years, but the Hip play Toronto on what? An average of twice a year and they charge 50 for nosebleeds? I think you have to factor those things in. Supply and Demand.

Yet you clicked on a U2 thread and posted on it.

I don't think they've ever sold out Halifax.. or tried to...
Oh well, I'll comfort myself with my Steve Earle tickets. After getting to see the Hip and Blue Rodeo play small clubs when I lived in Dallas, this Wednesday I'll get to see Steve play a small venue here in Halifax. So I really can't complain...
