Death From Above is a great name... having to add 1979 to it makes it a bit clunkier though, too bad about that whole legal issue.

Here's a name for you... Ned's Atomic Dustbin. I don't know a whole lot about the band, but I think they were popular with the college crowd in the early to mid-90s, and they had some catchy songs... but how's that for a cool band name?

I always thought that Post No Bills would make a great band name, especially in a large city where that phrase is plastered all over construction sites and such.

As for legitimate band names... Whiskeytown, Uncle Tupelo, Led Zeppelin (sheerly for the irony) Franz Ferdinand (I'm a history buff, what can I say)
