just bought the first 2 seasons of taxi on DVD, and i'd forgotten how funny and well written this show was...only 30 bucks a season, which i think is a steal..i haven't been laughing this hard in a long time (well.sundays i do..save arrested development.. ) one of the funniest scenes in tv history is when jim ignitowski(played briiliantly by chritopher lloyd) goes to get his licence....
iggy:'guys..what does a yellow light mean?"
bobby: "slow down"
iggy:"what.....does....a....yelllow.....light......mean"
forgot to mention my HUGE crush on Marilu Henner....
That is still one of my all-time favorite shows. I don't know what season it was on, but do you remember the episode where Iggy is having premonitions that come ture? He has a premonition that a phone would ring and no one would be on the other end, Alex would be wearing a catchers mask doing the cancan in a green sweater, someone would knock on the door, and when Louie went to answer it, he would die. Something like that anyways...I remember shitting my pants laughing back in the day when it aired.
My favorite Rev. Jim line is when he walks by a trash can, stands there and stares at it for a moment and says, "Just my luck, nothing to throw away".
I'm a big Kaufman fan. Bob Smuda's book "Andy Kaufman Revealed" has a bunch of really cool behind the scenes at "Taxi" stories. Most of them deal with how much Danza wanted to strangle the guy.
