Hey all

Not sure how many Arrested Development fans there are here, but the show is in deep trouble. The episode order for this season was shortened to 18 and has been replaced by American Dad for May Sweeps. It only seems like cancellation is the next logical step.

This show is one of the best on television right now. With a fabulous ensamble cast (David Cross, Jeffrey Tambor, Justin Bateman, Portia Di Rossi), it's easilly the best written comedy since Sports Night. This is one of those shows that could save the sitcom genre, not spare us reality shlock like "Worlds Wackiest Duck Hunts" and "When Insects Attack".

The Sunday's episode features guest stars Liza Minelli and Martin Short, and Ben Stiller and Zack Braff apparently have storylines to follow. It's not one of those shows that just inserts celebrities for ratings, but gives them characters and stories that keeps them coming back for multiple episodes (like having Carl Withers playing a insanely cheap actor or Henry Winkler playing the family attorney).

I usually wouldn't put my stock in an online petition, but I fully enjoy the show. The DVD set is a cheap buy and worth every penny. The petition is here: http://hoos.a-girlthing.com/.

Arrested Development in on after the Simpsons on Fox and Global, Sunday nights.

Thanks

Pat
i can't believe they would even think about cancelling this...it's won numerous awards, and jugding by the episode of american dad i watched after the super bowl, that show is going to be crap...a.d. is smart, sophisticated, hilarious and the best written comedy i've seen since probably the glory days of the simpsons..tv execs are so chicken-shit these days..cheers was the lowest rated show on tv for 2 years, but they stuck by it and looked what happened...SAVE THIS SHOW!!!
I heard about this the other day too! It's by far the funniest show on TV today. After the backlash after the first day though, FOX posted this on their website... whether or not it's TRUE, it's at least a little relieving. Maybe.

Dear Arrested Development Fans:

Thank you for your e-mail and your passionate support of Arrested Development. While the show has finished production for its second season, contrary to the rumors you may have heard or read on the internet, it is NOT cancelled.

We at FOX love Arrested Development and we look forward to having the Bluth family back on FOX in the future – hopefully for many years. You can help make the show a bigger success by getting as many people as possible to start watching the show this Sunday and every Sunday at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT.

Sincerely,
Fox Broadcasting Company
Fox always cancels awesome shows and replaces them with shitty shows. They cancelled Undeclared, Andy Richter controlls the Universe (which replaced Undeclared), Boston Public and the biggest one of them all FAMILY GUY ( I know it's comin back but it did technically get cancelled)
They have to find a better night for it, it is up agains some stiff competition on Sundays
Undeclared rocked; Bostone Public rocked until Nick Kats & Jessalyn Gelsig left;Arrested Development rocks harder. Unfortunately, much like you can't believe everything you hear on the history channel, you can't believe anything a network says. It isn't limited to Fox, they all suck and they all cancel great shows in favor of shitty shows.

Network executive: "Oh...wait...intellectuals like it? Pull it!
I can't believe Fox would actually consider replacing this show with American Dad.
Never really got into Boston Public. Just seemed to me like a innercity 90210 full of stereotypes. That being said, a lot of people really dug it and were upset when it was sent to its Friday night graveyard.

Undeclared on the other hand was one of my favourite shows the season it was on. As someone who was a freshman, it really resonated with me. That and the two girls were so cute.

A lot of people cried foul about Wonderfalls being axed last year. Another fine Fox example. All I can hope is that if Arrested Development is pulled, a cable net like HBO picks up on it, realizing the potentional it truly has.

Cheers

Pat
Just a thought about American Dad, I hate it when one show is successful i.e. Family Guy so they completely copy it by basically making the same show with different characters that fit the mold of the characters of the original successful show. Does anybody remember That 80's Show?????

No... which I'm sure is your point exactly.

Only because of Chyler Leigh :jump

Fox blew it with that one. They should have left the title free for a natural evolution of That 70s Show where it's now 1979 on their timeline. Most of the cast is ready to bail 'cause Foreskin is now a "movie star" and Kelso is "Mr. Moore" but even if that wasn't the case, they wrote themelsves into a deadend.

Come to think of it, I guess that's a good thing as it's gone downhill over the last few years. I still kinda dig it though 'cause Red kicks ass!
"IIIIIIIIIIIIII, am everyday people!"

I didn't even know those guys had a show! The rapp'n grampa was my favourite!

I agree it's a fantastic show, and a very funny one at that. But personally I'd have to go with Curb Your Enthusiasm as the funniest show on TV today. Larry David is a comedic genius. Just my opinion of course.

My dad absolutely just LOVES Curb Your Enthusiasm... I have never really given it a shot, but I mean it's larry david so you KNOW it's got to be funny.

Also, American Dad was totally funny. I'm not bitter at them... I just wish they'd gotten a different time slot is all. Smile They made American Dad before Family Guy was uncancelled so I'm gonna try not to think "this is just like Family Guy" and just enjoy. :thumb:

Larry David is indeed a comic genius. Unbelievably funny!! I love Arrested development also. The guy who couldn't be naked, in that he would always have cutoff shorts on had me laughing so hard it hurt. He comes out of the shower and drops the towel only to reveal cutoff jeans!! In another episode, he misses the call to join the Blue Man group!!! CLASSIC!! I love that both shows are without the laugh track. Instead of hearing laughter all the time you can laugh on your own and not have that annoying laughter in the background.
