I always knew about hipbase.com, because I found that while searching general Hip stuff.
BUT, I had no idea that there was a forum until a couple of months after I found the home page...

Same here.

I think the best bet is to get a link on any website related to the hip. Thats probably the most obvious solution. Also, I'd focus the base in Hipbase more to the communal definition rather than the database, because it works in that sense too, and I'm sure thats where most of the traffic will end up.

This is pretty much exactly how I got here. I don't think I've checked back there since.
I think I found this by Lance placing an announcement on the Henhouse mailing list.
And BTW, did anyone notice this thread is actually 4 years old?

In Europe last summer we distributed them at every show
Just out of curiosity - how the did you bring 15,000 flyers overseas - isn't that one big-ass heavy load?
I work in the paper industry (sort of) and paper is damn heavy.

I didn't take all 15,000 with me... but 15,000 flyers is only one box - they are dollar bill sized.

Have you got any left? I'd like one if you have. 8)

I still have a bunch left. I probably printed over 20,000 but lost track of the count. I just threw it onto any press run that had space for it.

I'll see what I can do about sending some your way...

Sweet! Thanks very much. :thumb:
Stephen 'Flogging a dead horse' Dame at a.m.t-h

He was very persistent.

Just send him out into the wild & I guarentee he will come back with a couple of hundred new members (although numbed and browbeaten :-))
I only came across this place this past June and I've been a Hip fan since 1994! I checked out alt.music.tragically-hip the odd time though. I was browsing thehip.com and came across just a small line that said something like, "a place to discuss the hip", with the link. Even though this thread is old, if you're looking at attracting more people I'd make that line in thehip.com much more noticeable.
A friend of mine told me about it at the Concert at the ACC on Feb. 8th! I have told everyone and anyone about it ever since! Tongue
