ROBERT PLANT TO RELEASE NEW ALBUM IN MAY (IN U.S.)
Robert Plant will release his new studio album on May 3rd. It's called Mighty Rearranger, and it was recorded with his band Strange Sensation, the group with which he recorded 2002's Dreamland. The first single is called "Shine It All Around," and it should be out in mid-March.
according to other press reports i've read this will be a "zeppelin" like rocker!! Dreamland was an amazing album, with plant sounding fresher then he has in years..i can't wait!!
Great News! Some of Robert Plant's solo stuff is way underrated.
The album "Principe of Moments" is an all time classic IMHO. Songs like "In The Mood", "Big Log" are amazing. "Now and Zen" is a classic too, "Ship of Fools", "Tall Cool One", great great great stuff!
Always loved... "If I was A Carpenter" by Plant - just deadly

cash may have done a version, but it was written and originally done by a guy named tim hardin, although plant really did make it "his own"...
if anybody wants a great retrospective on plant's solo career i highly reccomend the 2 disc set sixty six to timbuktu..all the hits, and some really cool b-sides...

I just had POM out just so I could listen to
In the Mood (still gives me gives me Goosebumps every time I hear it) and
Big Log (why this song is not more renown is beyond me.....the guitar lead is honestly one of the very coolest ever written, and the mood of that song is intoxicating. I highly recommend that everyone add it to their collection - even as a single-song download if you must - satisfaction
guaranteed.)

Yeah, I've had "Fate Of Nations" since it first came out. At first I thought this song was terrific, but after a while I couldn't help but think it was just a sappy tune.
I find with solo Plant that it's hit and miss.
Well it's no ..... IN THE MOOD for sure
shine it all around is the first single..we started playing it this week, and it kicks ass!! request it, download..do whatever you have to do....plant still has it!!!!
I was at work the other day and heard a version of what seemed to be the new Plant single. I thought I heard something about it being recorded at the station (Q107 or Y108, can't remember which). Anybody know anything about this?
I heard it on the radio the other day, and yes it definately is a great song, but I didn't hear anything about it being recorded at those stations. I know y108 has a contest where you can sit in on a live recording of a band or musician and meet them at a studio in hamilton. I'll have to keep my ears open for info on that.

here's three live tracks for plant from the recent south by southwest festival which sounded like a blast..plant does 2 new tunes, and a great re-working of when the levee breaks..also on this link is kathleen edwards, rufus wainwright's sister(can't remember her name right now) and about an hour more of great music....
by the way..you have to click on the south by southwest link on the right of your screen...you'll hear the end of the news, and then it goes into it!
