is anyone else really excited to see this movie? maybe this is my age and maturity level shining through here and betraying me...BUT I DON'T CARE!!!! I <3 BATMAN! i think this movie has potential to be every bit as good as Burton's 2, if not, mabye, just maaaaaaaaaaaaybe...EVEN BETTER! if you're not sure about this movie yet, or haven't heard/seen much about it yet, go to www.batmanbegins.com and check out the 3 trailers they have up, good stuff i tells ya.
Ah...I don't know. I mean..batman is awsome...ofcourse...but..it seems a little too futuristic for me considering it's batman begins. One of those clips was stolen from bloodsport lol..
well, even though it is supposed to take place before the 89 one, you still want it to be visually stunning/appealing as a film maker.

I'm looking at IMDB and it looks like a great cast

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0372784/

Christian Bale .... Bruce Wayne/Batman
Michael Caine .... Alfred Pennyworth
Liam Neeson .... Henri Ducard
Morgan Freeman .... Lucius Fox
Gary Oldman .... Lt. James Gordon
Ken Watanabe .... Ra's Al Ghul

More of my favorite actors! I am a lover of the Batman series because I love the old series and the first Batman ROCKED. Nicholson, my fave actor of all time, was BRILLIANT as the joker! However, I HATED Clooney as Batman YUCK and "Batman and Robin" sucked.
you took the words right out of my mouth, i'm a big Jack fan too, as well as Burton, and to think Nicholson wasn't originally cast as the Joker! that's one of his best roles ever IMO.

i enjoyed Returns a great deal too, because it was still Burton and still very dark and twisted, especially with the Penguin, they went in a totally different direction than the comic books, and Devito excuted excellently, made him a much more fierce villain than anyone could've ever expected, and of course, my favourite, CATWOMAN! i was only 7 when that movie came on, but i think i discovered my sexuality after seeing Michelle in that tiiiiiiiight shiny catsuit, romping around with that whip, whoooooooo, i'm startin' to sweat here just thinkin about it  .... :jump

I remember seeing the original in the theater and wondering what the heck we were seeing when they camera was within the bat logo and wondering why people cheered when they saw Tim Burton's name. Now I know! BATMAN came out when I was in high school . It was one of the first VHS tapes I ever owned.
It's not that it takes place before the 89 movie, it's that it's a completely different storyline than the last four. Brand new, free of past films (like how the movies had nothing to do with the TV show), A new set of films will be starting out from this one.

And let me tell you, I can't wait Smile

Cheers

So they just junked the established origins of Bruce seeing his parents killed and snapping?

Bob Kane must be spinning somethin' fierce. I hate Hollywood.
Actually it's closer to the comic book origin than the Burton movie. Joe Chill is back as the thug who kills the Waynes, not the Joker like in the 1989 flick. The training aspect of it is very similar to Frank Miller's "Year One" stuff as far as I gather.

it was cool that they had the Joker in the first movie, and i know they put him in it because they wanted it to be as good as possible, BUT, it was a shame that they kiled him off, because he really isn't supposed to die...he supposed to go to Arkham, as are pretty much all of the villains, leading up to the whole Knightfall series.
Batman was always my favourite superhero because he's got no superpowers or anything. He's just some rich dude out for revenge. I'll definitely be seeing this movie. I saw the first one when I was like 7 or 8 and loved it.
The original Batman movie has always been a personal favourite.. I think Christian Bale as the man himself is a good casting call and, even though Michael Cane is in everything these days, I love him and think he'll make a great Alfred. Liam Neeson is also great as is Morgan Freeman, who in my opinion, did his best work in The Shawshank Redemption.
I think it will be better than an Alice in Chains reunion
