I for one am going to miss CBC's coverage of the Olympics...I honestly think they do an incredible job covering the Summer and Winter Olympic Games, besides that and Hockey Night in Canada the rest of CBC is pretty much a waste of my time...well maybe not Road to Avonlea
It'll be weird not seeing Bryan Williams and Ron McLean behind the desk...and that means that Bob Cole, Harry Neale and Don Cherry probably won't make an appearance either, like em' or not they're the voice and face of Canadian Hockey...I'm kinda bummed about this...get used to seeing Rod Black's smiling face Canada
Goulet!!!
i definitely agree with ya
that makes me mad because i really enjoy all of the hockey coverage on cbc.
the only thing i'll miss about brian williams, is counting how many times he says "we're live", or how many times he taps his pencil..

CTV will get Pierre McGuire, and his buddy whose name escapes me at the moment, to do the Hockey .

gord miller...those 2 = worst broadcasting duo EVER
McGuire will transform into a squealy little girl everytime Canada scores
The thing that's getting overlooked hear is the CBC olympic theme song: Seriously, this might be the best sports theme in terms of emotion this side of the HNIC theme, and since NBC lost NBA rights (great theme)
I'm glad to see there are those who share my opinion on Rod Black...can't stand the dude...CTV had the '94 Lillehammer games, and he was the main guy, and it was not pleasent (although I was 10 at the time, so what can I really remember?)
even though the commentary won't be as good, i think this will result in better coverage, they'll be able to show stuff on CTV and TSN.

You speak truth, sai.
i just found out that not only will CTV & TSN be airing events, Global and Sportsnet will be too, and maybe even The Score..wow, we won't miss a thing with that much coverage, that's just nuts, even in the US it's usually only one network that carries the games right? i think i like this approach...

Yeah I think it will be good, especially the winter games. Lots of events that people want to see, so to spread it around like that can make sure everyone gets to see them. Even though it will be too bad that some of the CBC guys won't be there (like Ron Mclean and the rest of the hockey crew), I think the viewers will win in the end.
It is also apparent that I'm the only person who posts to this forum who likes Pierre McGuire... oh well, guess we all have our guilty pleasures.

He used to drive me nuts, but I've gotten used to him and he doesn't really bug me anymore. Plus Tie Domi doesn't like him, so that's another reason that people
should like him, because Domi's a moron.
I'd say right now the hockey colour guy who bugs me the most is Greg Millen. Wow he's terrible. Just terrible.
i dunno, ABC and ESPN have some pretty awful commentary, if by chance i happen to actually be watching a game they're covering, the tv will most likely be on mute.
