How recent is this photo? Could it be a few years old? I only ask this because the girl's apartment doesn't seem like the kind of place where you would expect to see NHL stars partying it up. I guess I expect to see them hanging around in "mansions", not there. It looks kinda dumpy for the upper echelon of professional sport. Just an observation.
(BTW, how do I know it's a woman's apartment? What self-respecting guy reads Shape magazine?)
It was from earlier this week - all of the Wings playing on that UHL team were at the girls' apartment - as was Kid Rock. If you want to see more pics, PM me.
Don't you see, K-Town?!? That apartment IS dumpy for an NHL player!! My lord, if they bring in a salary cap, he'll be forced to live in something only four or five times that nice! Can't you see why they're all so worried. He probably spent the whole time at the party deluding himself into believing that he'll be condemned to dumpy hole in the walls like that if he's forced to make as little as $3-4 million a year.

Actually, I think he may have spent the whole time thinking about something else, if you get my meaning.....
Like him or not, he's a helluva defenseman. I have to believe that when one's a celebrity of sorts, it isn't unusual for fans, or in this case hockey-tramps, to take advantage of photo opportunities. A celebrity's spouse would most likely understand this. After sixteen + years of marriage and four kids, their relationship has to be pretty solid and the issue of trust has already been mentioned.
Besides, While Cheli was gropin' the hocky-tramps, I was personally tending to Tracee's needs back here in Detroit!
Now, to the hockey-tramp on the left (in my best Napolean Dynamite voice): How long'd it take you to grow that mustache?
helluva defenseman!?!?!?! he WAS, but did you see Kovalev burn him in the WCH back in September? OOOOOOOOOOOUCH! made him look silly! (i'm pretty sure it was Chelios, if it wasn't nvm).
Am I alone in picking up the irony of a certain party to this discussion first complaining that people here disrespect him and then pointing out that respect must be earned?

I find it very ironic that I agree with him and nobody's attacking me

Hey I agreed to, nobody singled me out either. I think it's proof people will judge what someone says based on who they are not just on what they said at the time...which is pretty stupid and disrespectful. Just as stupid as starting this whole thread to bash Chelios.
Ya know what, Darkest Canuck, I kinda missed you on this board while you were gone. I know we've butted heads in the past, and we'll probably do so again in the future, but threads always seem more interesting when you're involved. Must be because you just don't give a rat's ass... and I mean that in as good a way as possible.
As to the topic of the thread... it's one thing to pose for a picture with fans, but if it looks like you're copping a feel, then it makes you look pretty scummy, especially if you're married with three kids. Is it that big a deal in the overall scheme of things? Not really, but it is interesting. I naturally have come to feel that Chelios is a jackass, so this helps confirm it for me, but I will freely admit my bias in this case.
Anyway, I'm glad cferneyh posted the pic, because it is an interesting talking point... but I'm curious man, where did you get that pic?

I just happened to be on one of the email chains that the pics were forwarded to. I'm sure before long they'll all be emailed to everyone who has a passing interest in the NHL.
I gotta say, the number of folks who've defended Chelios has really surprised me. I never realized that so many people felt that copping a feel and having 18 year old girls sit on your lap while your wife was at home with the kids is such acceptable behaviour - at least for pro-athletes. I'm not sure why they get held to different standards than the rest of us, but whatever.

I always enjoy it when people bash threads and keep coming back and posting in them. If you didn't like the thread the first time, then why do you keep coming back?
btw, just so we're clear, i think Chelios is a jackass too, i just didn't think that this was a big deal, i'd of thought he was a bigger jackass, and possibly a closet-homosexual if he woulda turned down this photo-op.

The Photos were taken awhile back. I believe the game was played back in November. It was when a bunch of players, mostly Red Wings in a charity game in Ann Arbor at the U of Michigan campus. They went out after for some fun in Ann Arbor and Kid Rock was with them too.
