Here is a piece I came upon recently which I found quite funny, and shocking. It has clips of American media perception of Canada. Obviously it is not a representaion of ALL U.S. media, but it does show some pretty uneducated journalism.
Prepare to be shocked.

Uneducated journalism knows no borders.
thanks for enlightening us on something i already knew, fox is the worst tv station ever.
Tucker is a HIP fan though.
I consider myself to be a conservative person politically on most issues... but it's people like those in that clip that give conservatives a bad name. Ann Coulter and Tucker Carlson are either incredibly stupid when it comes to Canada, or incredibly cynical.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to go dogsledding.
The Ann Coulters and Tucker Carlsons of this world say outrageous things just to get noticed. It's how they make themselves marketable. They're just pandering to views held by their audience -- the surefire road to success in media is to tell people what they want to hear.
Wow... that Ann Coulters bitch... I really don't like her at all...
Everytime she made a comment I got angry. I understand that they're playing on their image, but how incredibly ignorant and shallow can you be. "We should just take over their country", and, "They're lucky to exist on the same continent as us"... damn... that's really low, even for Fox.
And Tucker Carlson is just a moron... does anybody, I mean really, does anybody actually respect him as a journalist?
If anybody has watched the Tucker Carlson Unscripted show and Crossfire, you would immediately know the difference between the two. Unscripted is more of a policy debate and no surprise that Carlson has much more say in the presentation of this show than he does with Crossfire, which is basically a rant-a-thon IMO and clown journalism show. Crossfire is driven by the producers and ratings.

You used "tucker carlson" and "journalist" in the same sentence. Shame on you.
I don't care...edited or not...she needs a slap!
Heres some more "fair and balanced" reportng from Fox. This is about the inaugeration. It is funny and disgusting to see the way the anchor races to cut off the guest and kill the interview.
To say that Fox, or any media for that matter, is fair and balanced, is to say that my shit does not stink.

I guess, as a Canadian, I should be furious with both Carlson and Coulter, but I'm not. They don't make me angry, they just make me yawn. As long as there has been the ability to communicate, there have been people willing to spout off over just about anything. Nothing they said impacted negatively on Canada, really. If anything, they did more harm to themselves. All they served to do was perpetuate the already existing stereotype of the ignorant, arrogant American.

An accurate, fair and balanced observation. :thumb:
Tucker Carslon is, as John Stewart called him, a dick. Media-whore Ann Coulter, well, she obviously needs one.

Bingo! I agree with absolutely everything you said. It doesn't make Canada look bad at all it makes them look like ignorant morons.

Absolutely. And of course, what they want to do is make you angry. Why gratify them?
What Tucker Carlson was really doing was trying to goad Carolyn Parrish into saying something like, "that's so typically American." I don't believe for a second that he really thinks there's a lot of dogsledding up here.
