hahaha thats good. it shouldnt be banned...
That was brilliant. Man, network censors can be really uptight eh...
thats bull that commercial was banned. I saw nothing wrong with it.
That was great. I can definitely see why they wont put that on the air. It takes some pretty creative people to think up somthing like that. Outstanding!
ive had enough of this BS. We can watch ppl dying on the news and semi nude shots on NYPD etc but we cant watch this commercial or a guy perfrom a touchdown dance???? OMG NO NOT A TD DANCE!!!

screw the sensors
Conservatives are so cute. Do they know they're so cute? Bless you guys for banning that and demonstrating how silly this whole puritan movement is.

I know you are just playin', and I'm NOT going to get into some stupidazz argument over this, but being a conservative does NOT mean that you are necessarily a fundamentalist. Too often these two concepts are treated synonymously. You can be an athiest and still hold a high standard of moral decency.....

I meant literal fundamentalist in the sense of 'blind to all other ideas and progress,' beholden to one, and only one, ideology without thought.

I didn't mean religious fundamentalist... But BTW, there's a really great artcile in this weeks economist (Two hip and happenin' Iraqi voters on tha cover) about the religious fanatics on the left and how the Dem's are trying to tap into them.

There's a whole segment of America's religious population who are culturally conservative (No on Gay Marriage) but consider Jesus to be the first social democrat. (How come nobody cites the bible to justify wiping out hunger and poverty and providing for the have not's? That stuff is in there a lot after all...) Dems wanna shift the debate away from "gay marriage values" and back towards the "whose going to help the poor and stick up for the least of our bretheren values" which helped them kick arse for three decades.

Certainly openned my eyes. But it also points to the continued erosion of the seperation of church and state... which scares the hell out of me.
Uh, banned by whom?

Rejected by the client for fear the ad would backfire? Rejected by the network for fear of offending viewers?

Does anyone know?

I think that some democrats who are themselves religious sometimes do invoke the bible to those ends. But it's not wise political practice, IMO, because of exactly what you said - the blurring of the line that separates church and state is scary to many of us. It scares me, too, despite the fact that on most issues, the biblical 'code' coincides with the moral values I want to see upheld in society. By no means does that authorize the government to legislate as per the bibles 'direction', but legal banishment of gay marriage might occur regardless of what the bible has to say on the issue.

But back to the 'banned' commercial:

Much along the lines of what I was thinking....rejected internally, maybe not so much for fear of offending viewers, but opting just to avoid conjuring images of last year's whole 'bad scene'. I'm sure that this is a rather touchy subject, is a risk that Anheuser Busch is not willing to take.
And the problem with that commercial is... what, exactly?

Man, the more things I see, the less I understand sometimes.
It wouldn't matter for me anyways, I can't see any of the commercials. The stupid Canadian channels that pick up the feed (global tv, out of Toronto) put their own shitty commercials in place of the hilarious American ones. :nooooo
