Like everyone's been saying, you pay a premium for quality, but handmade is definately better than a factory made one.
Although, the Mexican strats are supposedly good value for the cost (I personally don't really like the single coil sound, but that's me), but you'll definately appreciate buying the American made ones solely for a quality of parts standpoint...
