I did a search, but only a couple posts even mentioned this band. I heard them for the first time the other day while in a store on Yonge Street in Toronto. I immediately had to ask the cashier which CD it was, and she directed me to an Irish girl working in the back. She seemed proud that someone was recognizing the music (probably her favourite band).

Anyways, these guys apparently sell out 30,000 seat stadiums in Ireland, but very few people in the U.S. or Canada have heard of them....almost as if they're The Hip of Ireland. I haven't gotten any of their cds yet, but you can stream the songs off of all their albums at their official site, http://www.theframes.ie/

They have a really unique, cool sound to them. Kinda remind me of Radiohead mixed with Sigur Ros at times, and they have a violin player thrown into the mix.

So, if you haven't heard of them, definitely check em out.

I saw a review of their latest album in the local paper and downloaded a couple of songs. Defenitely a band to check out! :thumb:
funny that you mentioned this band because i heard them for the first time driving home from work yesterday and I was wondering what they were all about. the song i heard was definitely cool...i think it was called "finally." im definitely going to check out their site. thanks for posting it.
Just heard these guys for the first time today on Radio Paradise. It was a new one off of their yet to be released album due out in Feb. I think.

Anyway, it sounded really cool. I'll be looking into them for sure.
I recently heard their accoustic cover of Into the Mystic on some Irish radio station on the net, it is a kickass version! It's available for download on Kazaa as well.
haha i just discovered these guys last night..

thankfully i knew well enough to search before creating a new topic

but anyway... this band is amazing.. i just went out and bought 2 albums.. their story definitely reminds me a lot of the hip what with making it big in their home market, but failing elsewhere (in this case, shadowed by U2)... their musical style isn't that close, but it could appeal to hip fans

please check them out.. i have the feeling you'll be pleasantly surprised

good songs:

revelate
angel at my table
happy
stars are underground
fitzcarraldo

i'll leave it up to you to discover the rest if you so desire..
