I thought the Colts' defense played pretty well. It was Peyton and the so-called unstoppable offense that failed to show up. Peyton played like crap and it didn't help that there were four or five dropped passes either.

Anyway, I'll be rooting for the Steelers next week but after seeing how poorly Big Ben played against the Jets, the Pats may have the upper hand in that one even though it is in Pittsburgh. Hopefully Farrior, Porter and the boys have a big game and Big Ben doesn't play like a rookie. I can't call the Eagles-Falcons game. I can't stand the Eagles but there's no reason why they shouldn't win. Vick might win it by himself though. The AFC is far superior and whoever wins the Pats-Steelers game should win the Bowl. The Falcons haven't really beaten anyone all year and the Eagles are without their best player. Whichever team wins shouldn't cause too many problems for the stingy Steelers or Pats.
here's what the Darkest Canuck pm'd me....

whatta ya think? 4-4 baby!

STEELERS
FALCONS

and i'll be back in time to mail in my own pick for the Superbowl...not that it matters because i already picked my team for the Superbowl...before the playoffs even started .
OK, I might as well say this now...

I HATE THE NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :rambo: :rambo: :rambo:

Yes I'm probably being irrational, but I don't care. They remind me of an evil faceless corporation... they have no soul and just win like a machine. Plus Bill Belichick has the personality of a kick in the nuts... on a good day.

But you do have to realize that they do what they do very well. They are always incredibly well prepared and can beat you in many different ways. As for today's game, I don't think Peyton choked, the New England defense just stepped up and played very well. Plus Brady and his offense absolutely dominated... I don't know what the ending stats were for time of possession but they had three drives of 14-15 plays or something like that. That's an excellent way to keep the Indy offense off the field and give them less of a chance to beat you.

That being said... PITTSBURGH BETTER BEAT THE SNOT OUT OF NEW ENGLAND NEXT WEEK!!!! :rambo:
As for the other games...

I was surprised by how close the Jets made it against Pittsburgh. I missed the second half of that game but it sounds like the Jets could (and maybe should) have won the game. With the Steelers not at their best but still winning, you can't help but think it may be their year.

I also thought the Rams would give the Falcons a tougher game, but I think I may have underestimated the Falcon defense... they look pretty good. Plus Atlanta ran roughshod with their running game and special teams. I doubt they will find things that easy next week.

I didn't see most of the Philly-Minny game, but I'm not surprised at the result. Even without T.O. the Eagles just have too much for inconsistent teams like the Vikings.

So... Patriots @ Steelers and Falcons @ Eagles next week... should be interesting.
Let's Go Steelers! Hopefuly the superbowl will be an all Pa event!!
That's the last time I pick Peyton Manning on the road in a playoff game (note: I said the exact same thing this time last year. Grrrrrrrrrr.)

I agree with you for the most part. I used to hate the Pats but I don't hate them anymore. They're so damn good that you gotta respect them whether they're your team or not. I'm a Bills' fan so you must know how I feel having my team get embarrassed every year by the Pats. Belicheck and his staff are incredible coaches.

The Pats played a great game! HOWEVER, I do think Manning choked because he is SUPPOSED TO BE GREAT! He is supposed to be good enough to adapt and overcome any defense. Sure, the Pats defense, especially Bruschi and the LB'ers played a hell of a game, but Peyton should be able to overcome that if he wants to be considered great. Until he can beat a defense like the Pats in the PLAYOFFS, he is merely a very good REGULAR SEASON player. He's no Mr. JANUARY yet!! haha

While I still don't think Peyton choked, I do have to agree that he is not a great quarterback, and can't be considered great until he wins a playoff game against a REAL contender... and Denver doesn't count. On the flip-side, Brady is 7-0 as a playoff QB and has won two Super Bowls, so he is a great QB. And the Patriots are a great team... but I still don't like 'em! :x

And just for the record, I'm a Lions fan, so I know about bad football teams  ... even more than Bills fans have learned about that recently.
The Champs have already been crowned, Pittsburgh can't handle New England on either side of the ball. NFC doesn't match up against either PITT or NE.

I think the title is NE's already.
Go Birds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Between your windburn and forced relocation to your dorm at the end of the world, I'd say your pain is pretty intense Tongue But how many people can say they got the chance to attend a playoff game AND elbow a mouthy Vikings fan??  I'd say elbowing the Vikes fan is worth the pain Tongue
mwhahahahahaha. she deserved it!
