I'm not sure if this is already common knowledge?...but I received an e-mail from a Canadian chum last week:
"...I was in the studio a few months ago where a Gord Downey [Ed: Ahem, yeah, he's not a big Hip fan!
] version of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" was being mixed for inclusion on a film that I was working on. You might know the original, or perhaps even the Jeff Buckley version. Folks here were very impressed with the result...it's some new music that should be coming your way in the spring (assuming that his damn winter eventually ends)."
And before anyone might ask... No. Somewhat bizarrely, he didn't tell me what the name of the film was, and now he's out of mail contact for a good while.
