90 percent of sexual offenders don't get a jail sentence? Wow, thats unbelievable! One thing they do here in Wisconsin is throw the book at sexual offenders; there was one case where a 18 year old guy got 2 years in jail for getting his 15 year old girlfriend pregnant. and for the more serious offenders Wisconsin has something called Chapter 980, which basically means if the state thinks a sexual offender is likely to re-offend, they can house him in a state mental facility until they think he or she is fit for release.

Really? We sure don't have that up here! A sexual offender was just released from custody this week and a media release was issued that this guy was at high risk to re-offend. He was one of the rare ones that did go to jail but that is because he raped an elderly woman (who -get this- was walking to church one morning), then he robbed her, beat the crap out of her, and left her for dead (but she did survive).
This guy refused all programming offered in jail and didn't want to rehabilitated at all. But because he served his sentence, they had no choice but to let him out this past week. At least the police issued a photo of this guy with his name and stuff. But not everyone reads the paper or watches the news. So that guy is out there now, doing whatever the hell he wants. Now that poor woman has to live her life everyday, knowing this guy is out there. Where's the justice in that?
