where's the U2 love?
The Darkest Canuck Wrote:1. I don't think you can count the Nirvana box as an album...none of it was recorded in 2004, and more importantly it's not an album!

Who cares? Yes it was recorded years ago, but 90% of the material hasn't seen the light of day until now, so in my opinion it officially counts as a 2004 release. Last year I had Led Zep's "How the West Was Won" on my list. Should I not have counted that one as well?? It's my list and I can add whatever I want to it, thank you very much.

No kidding, eh. I figured more people would have them on their list. We haven't heard from everybody yet though, so let's wait and see. I'm sure there's plenty of U2 love out there in hipbase land.

i've heard pretty much everything in that box set already except for do rei me, and some of the demos (most of which are of songs that were released). there's really not that much in the box that is really all that rare at all, but it's still worth getting because the recordings of the "rarities" will finally be of good sound quality, and of course, because of the DVD. Personally, i would've preferred an Unplugged in New York DVD or Live Sold Out Tonight DVD to the box set, but hopefully we'll get those soon enough too.
Nice call on the Doers...mike watt is still king!
I'm going to limit this to my top 8:

4. The Streets - A Grand Don't Come For Free
5. The Libertines - S/T
6. Franz Ferdinand - S/T
7. Morrissey - You Are The Quarry
8. Interpol - Antics
