Funniest show ever on TV, and a movie would kick ass! :thumb: Anybody else agree?
I was at a "talk" by Tim Long, the head-writer of The Simpsons, and he seemed a little unsure about it all. He talked about the fact that they have exhausted so many plot lines. Also said that a movie would more likely come once the series was off the air. I think it is inevitable, but no one seems to know when its gonna happen.
i really hope it doesn't happen..i'm a huge simpsons fan, and i wish they'd quit a few years ago..the show doesn't even compare to what it used to be...i know i'll be raked over the coals for this, but i don't even care if i miss an episode anymore...harry shearer also stated it's gone on for too long...
I don't think the Simpsons have been on too long - I think they are getting funnier every episode! It is one of the few shows that can still make me laugh out loud. It still amazes me what they can get away with sometimes.
A movie would be cool but I would worry about it not "living up" to the regular episodes. The writers are awesome but a 30 minute episode is a far cry from a 1 1/2 to 2 hour movie. I would still go see it though
This movie idea has been around for a while though and nothing has ever really came of it. So who knows if there will ever be one.
I thought the Simpsons SUCKED for three consecutive years, seasons 12, 13 and 14. They really won me back with season 15. I don't know what happened, but the plotlines got so berserk for a few years the situations weren't even really funny. They also lost their ability to do satire right and became a much more superficial show. So up until last year, I would have agreed with opiated, but season 15 reminded me why I love the show and it may not be at its absolute prime right now, but I'm glad it's still going.
the social/political commentary is priceless. you know if they made a movie it would rock, like the Who Shot Mr. Burns episodes, but better!
also, i have to say, I can't wait til we see the 50 Cent episode, garaunteed somebody will get shot haha!
