actually the yanks apparently told the diamondbacks that they are no longer intrested in the big unit as of yesterday. Look for the yanks to make a serious run at Pedro.

early wednesday morning, peter gammons reported that they were close to a deal but then later in the evening jason stark of espn.com reported that they were no longer interested. We shall see what happens.
How stupid do these guys have to be? With Caminiti passing away (maybe not all to do with 'roids, but it had an effect I'm sure), and Giambi having a mysterious "parasite"... hmmm, what the hell do you think that was????
