Does anybody have info on what his new show on the CBC is going to be about. Muchmusic just lost the tiny grain of cred it had. I think George and Sook Yin Lee should be forced to mate and create a race of uber cool offspring.

George is the man. Its quite refreshing knowing that intelligent, informed, and TALENTED (Im looking at you, MM 'crew') young people can still make it on television....well, rarely, but hes there.
Sook Yin, also very very awesome.
He's a smart guy, Much couldn't hang on to him, man he got a show that is an hour long, Monday Report is only a half hour.
Not sure what it is going to be about, all aspects of culture I would think.
Oh, sorry, dont know anything about the show...
George Stroumboulopoulos departs MuchMusic

TORONTO - MuchMusic personality George Stroumboulopoulos is leaving the nation's music station to pursue a career in journalism.
Stroumboulopoulos will be joining the staff of CBC Newsworld, the 24-hour all-news network run by the nation's public broadcaster.
George Stroumboulopoulos
"I've had a good run, five years here at Much, but I'm gone. I'm moving on to other things," he said on Friday afternoon on his MuchNews show.
The popular VJ's last day at Much is Dec. 10.
It appears that the CBC actively courted Stroumboulopoulos. According to an e-mail to Much staff from station executive David Kines, the CBC "made him an offer he couldn't refuse."
A report from the Canadian Press said that Stroumboulopoulos is set to become the host of a new prime-time program on Newsworld.
The show will be an "hour-long, personality-driven look at issues currently resonating with the Canadian public," Tony Burman, the head of CBC News, told CP.
In October, Stroumboulopoulos appeared on the CBC's Greatest Canadian series as the celebrity advocate for former NDP leader Tommy Douglas, the champion of universal health care.
Peter Mansbridge, the anchor of CBC's The National, has called Stroumboulopoulos "one of the bright interpreters of the current generation."
He follows in the footsteps of other MuchMusic hosts, like J.D. Roberts and Laurie Brown, who also cut their teeth at Much before moving into news.

George rocks. Muchmusic just got a helluva lot worse than it already is.
I wonder how long it takes for the bigwigs at CBC to demand he get rid of that nose ring.
:?
So let me get this straight, no more Sook-Yin, no more Bradford How, no more George, and TTH vids as sparse as ever! Ugggh....

I think the general rule there is that if you're a musician over the age of 21 who has released more than 2 albums, your video will not get played...unless of course you're in a band so freakin' huge that they have no choice but to play your video. Like U2 for example.

I betcha (aside from that being an observation that everybody would probably agree with) that they ACTUALLY have that written somewhere in a rule-book or somethin that they give to new VJs. It wouldn't surprise me one bit.
That station has been on the downslide for ages now, I say smart move getting out of there! He's probably sick of introducing britney and ashlee simpson videos all day, puke!!!!! Much Music sucks! :rambo:
It's sad, who'll host the punk show, or loud?
Hannah Sung looks promising, but still, that station is going to hell in a hairnet really really fast.
