Has anyone used these? I'm a vain little creature, and want my teeth to be whiter...so I bought some. Should I have wasted my money on something else? Any thoughts?

There was a pretty interesting piece on one of those US Sunday shows yesterday (Dateline, 60 Minutes... one of them)

Jist of it was that some people are developing dependencies on these things, one kid overdid it so much that he rotted the enamel off his teeth. But in the end, like with most things, in moderation they're completly fine.

And what surprised me was that they're actually effective. They showed some people who just followed the instructions (It's apparently not a good idea to go overboard) and the results were very noticable. So I guess it's money well spent.

Go to dentist.net or your local dentist to get them. They have stronger strips than in the stores. They are very effective in my useage, but I drink a lot of coffee and wine so anything is going to help. I've done them 9 months apart and that seems to work for me. I think they recommend every 6.

It may be a brand / biology thing but a couple of different people have told me that they made their teeth overly sensitive so they had to stop using them.

And unless your avatar is photoshopped, I agree with Stephen...beautiful smile! :thumb:

My boyfriend mentioned that they had made his teeth really sensitive to cold, so he stopped using them. So far I've had no adverse affects. ...and thank you for the compliment. :mrgreen:

I used the Crest White Strips premium before my wedding. Once I got to the 4th day my teeth hurt so bad. It made them sooo sensitive so I switched to using everyother day. In the end the results were amazing. They really did whiten a great deal.

I have used them also and yes they do work, especially if you dont have alot of stains from smoking, coffee, colas, etc. My friend also uses them and loves them. (she used to be a smoker, so she had to use a few boxes over a years time)) They do have a tendency to make your teeth and gums very sensitive though. (esp if you already have sensitive gums)
One of the main ingredients in them is peroxide which is most likely the culprit for the soreness, yet is the main ingredient for whitening.

They are uncomfortable to wear, even if you don't have sensitivity to them. They are a bit awkward. All in all though, they will work for you and as I said, especially for light stained teeth.

Like you, I have white teeth but was looking for a slighter white 'edge' to my smile I agree with the others though, you do have a beautiful smile already, Jenna :wink:

I'd never use them. Anything that cleans the way those products do does permanent damage to your teeth. It's been proven over and over again. Society's fixation on having white teeth at the cost of your health and your teeth's health is foolish. I'd stick to my regular toothpaste, my Crest Spinbrush and my normal off-white healthy smile.

They just burn through the enamal on your teeth, I'd stay away. I have two dentists on my hockey team.

I have used Crest Premium whitestrips twice. They claim to be safe for your enamel, but who knows.

They did make my teeth very sensitive, but much whiter.
