Like it says. I thought I had obscure taste till I started reading what some of the hipbasers had to say.
My contribution is the Corb Lund Band. This guy is like a modern Ian Tyson, but way fucking cooler 'cause he played bass for the legendary Smalls, who I guess some people also haven't heard of.
Corb is doing a small western tour through the west before Christmas, great chance to check him out

My wifes Aunt turned me on to this guy. He always performs solo with his guitar. Real bluesy folk. What this guy does with his voice is simply amazing, he sounds like a 4 piece band!

Greg Macpherson from Winnipeg. The guy is awesome. Folk, rock, punk and a somewhat Springsteen-esque singing voice. Great songwriter/lyricist.
Cuff the Duke. Brilliantly twisted alt-country punk rock from Oshawa, ON. Great live show. They're currently on tour with Hayden, opening the shows and also acting as his backing band. Don't miss 'em.
Mico from Calgary. Intelligent politically-charged rock n' f**kin' roll. Great band. They've toured a lot with the Weakerthans, so ya know they keep good company.
Dredg - everybody here needs to go out and get/dl w/e "Leimotif" and "El Cielo", two of the best albums i've ever heard. if you like Tool, Incubus, Radiohead, Pink Floyd, Mogwai or any rock music that's adventurous, or "outside the box" so to speak, this should be right up your alley.

I totally second that, saw him play this summer and it was awsome.

I'll second that. I've seen them twice now (both times opening for Hayden) and they're great. They put on a good show and show so much variety. One song the guitar player played his guitar with a bow. They have some folky tunes, some purely instrumental tunes, some, etc... all around they like to experiment 'n do a good job.
