Ok, so I hear the rumor is at the ACC they are fiiiiiiiiiiinnally gonna produce a dvd. So now, the question is what songs do we want immortalized?
I say:
Grace Too
Can't Save the Planet
Fire in the Hole
Heat of the Melt
Escape is At Hand
Poets
Courage
Silver Jet
Don't wake Daddy
Boots or Hearts
Vaccination Scar
3 Pistols
Ahead By a Century
Music At Work
Something On
100th Meridian
Little Bones
-----------------
Wheat Kings
Fire Works
Locked In the Trunk of a Car
-----------------------------
NewOrleansCombo
can`t save the planet?
i would take about both New Orleans songs and Don't wake daddy.
i would replace them with Long Time Running, Another Midnight and Makeshift.
I realize Can't save the planet is a wierd choice, but eh..i love it...who knows why...who knows why I hate tiger the lion...
who knows these things...
ps. Long time running is awesome, and I would concede New Orleans is Beat to it, but I could never concede Sinking to Another Midnight...
pps...I should have included Pigeon Camera, Nautical Disaster and Opiated...you think the hip will play a 45 song set list just this one time?
i think his post was pointing out the fact that the song isn't called "can't save the planet", but rather "save the planet"
I don't think they will ever record a DVD without Nautical Disaster
Mark, your post sounded earily like it came from comic book store man..
although, of course you are correct, my humble apologies....im also known to call butss wigglin "that drug song"
If it is true that they are filming in TO, pretty sure you will see a pretty wide range of songs, people in TO will be lucky, this could be a one off DVD so I think they will have a pretty broad retrospective. I could be totally wrong.
I just hope Gord doesn't over act! when the camera's are on.
He didn't better than Peter mansbridge's "what's to become of us"
until I saw a few more Cpt. Trips' posts, I thought his dream Hip setlist ended with "We're Hardcore" closing out the third encore. And I'm like, "dude, that is not going to happen."
silly me,
CT
How could a DVD filmed in TO not include an ode to Mr. Barilko?
If it's DVD, than it can fit like 3 hours of video on it. Why don't they record 2 nights--completely different setlists? I know but.....can't a man dream?....
sonofdad
So theres this dude that plays regularly in Guelph, I hear he's from the skydiggers...anyways, he always covers We're hardcore...and it's awesome...
Id love to see the hip close a set with a Hip Version of We're Hardcore.
Over 50 Mission Cap anyday.
Is the guy, Josh Finlayson aka Josh Skydigger

I think a better idea still would be to film one complete concert and then include a song or two from each of the other dates on the tour.
If they just used the standard in-house monitor feeds for video, it could be done on the cheap.
