Anyone else see this? Totally out of control. Some of the punches they landed on fans were nuts.
Why on earth would the Indiana players rush into the crowd? So dumb and I guess they will have lots of time to think about during their long suspensions.
I saw it on the news at the gym today, wow what a brawl! Dont see many like that anymore, fans were throwing punches and drinks were flying, it was a wild one! All started because of a foul under the basket, boo hoo! What a bunch of wimps, a guy gets smacked on the wrist or pushed and he flips out, waaaaaaaaaaaaaah he touched me!

I hate basketball, yeah you heard me! :rambo:
Please come back hockey..we miss you! :thumb:
I only saw some still photos, but that made British soccer hooligans look like Sunday drivers. Hilarious in its outrageousness!
If anybody has a video link I'd love to see it...
The video can be seen on MSN.com. There is a link to MSN Videos and it's there.

I've seen this clip several times today on several stations. The highlight for me came at the end when the Pacers had to walk "the Gauntlet" while being pelted with food, drinks and garbage. A certain "poetic justice", perhaps.
What upset me the most about this whole thing was hearing players from other teams (Vince Carter, for instance), state that the fans had it coming. Carter stated that if someone threw beer on you while you were walking down the street you wouldn't let that go. Sorry Vince. It is wrong to over-react in either situation. Legally, in Ontario, if someone throws beer at you while you walk down the street, that's a crime. If you cause a riot after the beer is thrown on you, that's a greater crime. Common sense says you don't put out a fire with gasoline.
Artest acted recklessly. Plain and simple. He should be charged.

Well, most of us wouldn't let it go. Vince would either:
(a) fall down and cry
(b) fall down, sprain his ankle, and cry
or
© fall down, sprain his ankle, cry, and demand a trade.
Love to hear the softest player in the NBA talkin' tough. What's next? Yashin's opinion on backchecking?

Hahaaha , that's hilarious !!
Just watched the clip and I agree with K-Town , this guy should be charged and suspended for a long time. Watch the lawsuits coming from the fans who got smoked, I hope they milk the whiny millionaires.

Can't wait for him to go. Good riddance.

Good stuff guys! Funny, yet probably true. Carter has been one of the softest players in the league for a while. He's 75% flash and 25% substance. The guy isn't a team guy. He whines, bitches, moans, is a momma's boy, gets hurt all the time, blames everyone but himself for the Raptor's woes, shoots fadeaway jump shots instead of driving to the hoop,........

Check out this link, goes over the best fights with fans.
There certainly is no excuse for an outrage like this, but I don't think this instance was any worse than what I've seen in other sports (Soccer riots, hockey/baseball strikes/Olympic steroids/other assorted scandals, garbage, and baloney).
Living in MI and being a Piston's fan myself, I witnessed this Live, and it was one of the most insane things I've ever seen live. Also, being a Piston's fan, I am extremely (as Bill Walton repeatedly said) disgusted. This is an embarrassment.
Basketball is such a tense sport, and you have to figure that Benny Wallace's patience was being stretched the entire game, before he finally hit the breaking point.
Clearly, there's no excuse for this, but basketball is such a tense sport, and I don't think anyone except the players (and perhaps referees) realize just how frustrating it can be, I think even moreso than other sports.
There is equally no excuse for the fans that were throwing shit-> that is just ridiculous. It's like a little kid picking a fight with a bully, ya just don't do it. He's going to strike back eventually, it speaks bad of the fans, the city, the league, the sport.
As an avid basketball player and fan, I'm embarrassed .
