Okay, like Problem Bear I will be the reviver of lost threads....

Just picked up a Charlie Patton CD and I'm listening to it now.

As Gord once sang, "Holy fucking shit...." Get me a time machine. This guy makes Robert Johnson sound like an amateur. This guy was truly the king of the delta blues singers.

Anyone else listen to Charlie Patton?
Hey Grooveless do you listen to the White Stripes? I am pretty sure they cover some Leadbelly tunes. Can't remember what they are called right now. Does Death Letter sound familiar?
Robert Johnson
Otha Turner
The Beatles.
1. Blind Willie McTell. There's something so ebullient about this guy's stuff. If my CD hadn't been stolen I'd be listening to it right now.

2. Louis Armstrong.

3. Rolling Stones BEFORE they fossilized.

4. Bessie Smith.

5. Dylan and the Hawks.

6. The Pogues with Shane McGowan, of course.

6. Nirvana. I coulda seen them, but for some reason put it off until their next tour. Wasn't banking on Cobain getting a little to handy with the shotgun.
BANDS:
01. Led Zeppelin (Page, Plant, Jones, & Bonham)
02. Janes Addiction (Farrell, Navarro, Avery, Perkins...I shoulda / coulda / woulda circa 1990)
03. The Yardbirds (most 'stocked' member lineup EVER)
04. Pink Floyd (Waters, Gilmour, Mason Wright...the Barrett era was garbage, anyway)
05. Alice in Chains (again.....shoulda, woulda, coulda)
06. The Who (Townshend, Daltrey, Entwistle, Moon)
07. CCR
08. AC/DC (A. Young, M. Young, Scott, Williams, Rudd)
09. Fleetwood Mac (Fleetwood, Buckingham, C. McVie, J. McVie, Nicks)
10. Def Leppard

SOLO FIGURES:
01. Stevie Ray Vaughn
02. Jimi Hendrix
03. Elvis
04. Duke Ellington
05. Chuck Berry
06. Muddy Waters
07. Louis Armstrong
08. Howlin Wolf
09. Marvin Gaye
10. Elmore James
Ones already mentioned - the doors, the beatles, soundgarden, nirvana, janes addiction, blind melon.
I would also add - sublime, operation ivy, and pearl jam back in the "ten" years.
