In my opinion, if they are filming a DVD, fan recordings will not be allowed. As with hipfan39, I'd still like a fan recording of the event.
As far as the trip to SC; sell your ticket and go with your family. If they are filming a DVD, you'll be able to watch it whenever you want. The drive to Toronto, and then SC is a big risk to take for a concert, regardless of the band.
And with regards to philhip37's comments... If the members of the band said they are filming a DVD at The ACC, I think it's a pretty safe bet that they are filming a DVD at The ACC.
i dunno about the Hip, but when DMB films for a DVD, they still allow taping.

Pearl Jam made a DVD of their 2003 Madison Square Garden concert and released an unaffiliated three-disc bootleg of the same show. (Well, "affiliated" in the sense that it was an official Pearl Jam release, but you know what I mean.
) I guess what I'm saying is, I see no reason why we shouldn't be able to tape the ACC show, since you'd assume the people who tape and trade shows are probably gonna be the first ones in line when the DVD comes out anyway. I guess I'm also discarding any hope of hearing any genuine rarities next week...so can I at least throw in a request for "Fully Completely"? Please?

Although it is a rare blessing having the bands approval when taping them it's not like that has prevented very many if any shows from being taped. I would say the only difference the rule makes would be how paranoid the tapers are.
How often does the venue security know that taping is ok when it is anyway....cause it is usually frowned upon.
Either way I would buy they dvd and listen to the fan tape. Hey, and maybe even at the same time.
How about a "greatest-hits-slash-live-dvd" combo?
Several others have done that in recent years; like a two-disc job, one CD, one DVD...
Not really a new thought though, it was mentioned above somewhere.

It's possible. I'm sure we'll probably hear a few more of the radio hits that they normally don't play in concert. 50MC has not graced a setlist this tour. Can you imagine if they broke out 38 Years Old?? I wouldn't be surprised if there was a lot of stuff from FC. Anyhow, the show will be great. See ya there!!
