So it looks more and more like there will be some kind of official DVD release from this tour. Assuming that they record a bunch of shows, what would people actually like to see put out? A collection of songs from across the tour would be nice, but I think I'd rather have one entire concert instead. I've always liked DVDs that captured an enitre show, since it acts as either a good souvenir from that tour. Of course, maybe a bit of both would be nice

Any thoughts...
For sure one show, I don't like ones that jump around or show behind the scenes crap in between songs, it takes away fromt he momentum of the show. Something like U2 live in Boston would be great.
on a related note, have any bands started selling live DVDs through something like live downloads yet? i'm sure if this hasn't happened yet it's only a matter of time.
How about something like what pearl jam did and release a handfull of shows.
............. but then again, i would be happy with anything they put it out (whenever that is) : )

Have camera crews been spotted at any of the shows in the US or Canada?
If so, man, we're not too far off

Ill be happy with anything at this point, but I would love it if they pick London, keep those memories forever! I hope they use an entire show instead of bouncing around, plus I want all music videos!!! Yeah Im greedy, so what

Briefly on this topic, I just got back from the Kelowna show. The stage is flanked by two big screens on which the entire concert was being switched for all to see. From my vantage point, I could see two live cameras and at least 3 robotic cams providing the coverage. I was assuming that the show was being recorded for download or sale later, however, a DVD release with the best from the tour sounds good too. I sure hope it includes "Long Time Running" cause they pulled that out from their bag of classics last night and it was freaking amazing!!
Most larger venues have video screens dispalying what the cameras are shooting at any given moment. Whether it's the scoreboard over center ice...er...uh...main floor in an arena or screens mounted on the sides of the stage and outside the pavillion in an amphitheater, such as the venue formerly known as Pine Knob. There are usually three to six active cameras in these environments.
It's certainly possible that The Hip is filming their shows, but it's also possible that the cameras that have been spotted recently are simply covering the evening's action for those in the "cheap seats".
Besides, I think I read that someone actually asked Robby about releasing a DVD at a US show and he basically said that it wouldn't happen.
If they release one, I'll surely buy it, whether it's a full show (the preference I voted) or a combination of various shows. Personally, I'd rather they didn't as it would almost have to mean the end of fan recordings, at least video recordings.
Some time ago I shared my logic about fan-video over professional video and Chris's initial clip from the Detroit show clearly illustrated my point. A pro video would begin with an opening shot of Gord, the band, or Johnny as he rhythmically clicked his sticks to start the first song but Chris's clip began rightly focused on Robby seated at his steel guitar.
Unless The Hip developed the story-board themselves, only a fan would understand the significance of Robby at the steel.
