Hey all,
Forgive me for ripping this off from a Dave Matthews Band fansite, but I thought it was a great idea. Let's put together an "official" Hipbase list of what we think are the twenty-five best cds of the year.
Here's what we do. Anyone who wants to participate can send me their top ten albums for the year. For each of the ten picks, a point value is assigned in decending order (so your #1 pick gets 10 points, #2 gets 9, and so on). Once all the emails are submited, I'll tally up all the points and put together the Hipbase Top 25 for 2004.
The Rules:
1 - the album has to have been released anytime after Jan 1/04
2 - soundtracks, greatest hits comps, live records, and various artist compilations do not count. All original material, by one main artist.
3 - Albums that have been re-released this year (ie Love Is Hell pt 2) are not eligible.
4 - email you picks, including your Hipbase user name, to patrickbales@gmail.com by December 16th. That gives us a month from today, and me some time to do all the work before the end of the year.
Feel free to also include a little blurb, explaining each of your picks if you'd like. Please keep this short though, like 50-100 words short.
I should be able to get this up and ready for posting by New Year's Eve, hopefully giving you all something to talk about before the show in the Hammer. Wish I could be there this time around, but its not to be.
Hopefully you all think this will be as fun as I do. Maybe it's just the budding journalist in me, I'm not really sure.
Cheers
Pat
