Not. Guess we aren't family or what.
Interesting post, in that I haven't been to any shows on the US tour, so sorry I couldn't go out of my way JUST to ask them about Europe. I was busy taking care of my 4 month old daughter at home, but *OBVIOUSLY* I don't have my priorities straight. I'm sorry, oh Grand Commander DL, that I couldn't do my part to ask the band about Europe. I guess your e-mail client isn't working? Or does it just not send e-mails to tth@thehip.com?
That's not even to SPEAK of the people that actually went to the US shows. How DARE they not have it in their mind, while they are watching their musical idols, to ask them about Europe for you!!! The absolute NERVE of some people, eh, Grand Commander?
As a matter of fact... one second here.....

OK, I've just booked a flight to Kingston and a hotel for one night. I am PERSONALLY going to knock on Gord Sinclair's door to ask him about Europe. How dare they not give any information about a tour that may or may not be in the works yet. Damn asses. Don't worry, DL. *I'LL* get to the bottom of it, because *OBVIOUSLY* these jerks of Hipbasers can't and won't do your bidding for you...

Jerk.

Yeah, yaknowhat, a few days ago when Gordie and I were tippin' back a few pints o' John Courage ale, I finally remembered to ask him about Europe.

"Hey Gord," I said, "when are you guys gonna go to Europe?"

"Ya know Scott," Gord replied, "we really, really wanna play some gigs across the big pond, but there's this psycho-stalker-fan that freaksusout, man; I've never met him myself, but he pesters the crap out of all my closest friends and family.

"Calls himself 'DL'", Gord snarled as he emptied his pint. "The way it's lookin, unless he quits bothering people, we may never play Europe again."

Sorry dude, since it's pretty obvious he was talkin' about you, I wanted to spare your feelings.

Sorry you wouldn't let it lie and I had to break the bad news.
come on, Rory, you should be in Kingston by now
...And who was it that said newbies were treated fairly? ..I was sure that I read about newbies not being attacked...... maybe i'm daydreaming

Believe me - I understand your pain. I'm getting sick of all these americans and canadians visiting all the shows and rubbing our faces in it over and over again (just kidding - don't shoot!:lolSmile No but seriously, I'm in Europe myself and would love nothing more than to see the boys play live but there ya go. If they do decide to come, awesome and i'm sure they'll let us know when they know themselves. If they decide not to travel over here well that's just too bad then - c'est la vie - take a deep breath and move on.

Just for the record, I did e-mail the hip asking about a potential European tour but surprise surprise - I never received a reply.

Me too! Goddamn North Americans. They're all so arrogant.

(I'm not even joking - it's been two years since the band came here, and they never bothered with us on the theatre or club tours. Even though I am technically in Canada, this province might as well be sinking into the ocean for all the recognition we get.

Well I believe that DL lashed out on, by saying...

Quote:.....Guess we aren't family or what.

So he has 6 posts and now has come to the conslusion that we "aren't family" here.

I agree with Rory. Sorry we didn't reply with an answer, but do you really need to question the morals of the hipbase DL, based on that?
You pretty much are saying screw you people, you are all no good,

......that's my interpretation.

...Hey Rory, let me know when you get to Gord's house (and hurry up already) tell 'em I said Hey
I don't even know what to say...
I'm... I'm... laughing too hard to..
I can't... ha ha ha

Yaknow...I said before, to summarize, that newbies who are more interested in what they can get from the 'base rather than what they can share or bring to the 'base may feel "attacked". I likened it to a stranger walking in your door, heading straight for the kitchen, reaching for the fridge and saying "got any beer, dude?"

Forget the fact that he could have posted his negative comments in any one of the other FIVE THREADS he started, he started another one to bitch us out because the fridge was empty!

I haven't met too many 'basers in real life but I have met Rory and I have to say that if he got that upset, there's no doubt that "dl"'s outa line. Anyone who's got boots from the old days (before the onset and demise of Napster and the current trend of BitTorrents) probably has Rory to thank, directly or indirectly, for more than a few of their source recordings.

Also, "dl" was advised a while ago that we don't have a hotline to the hip and he should write them directly.

"dl" hasn't acted like a newbie, he's acted like a leech.

And 'Touque, I feel your pain, I really do. I can't offer much solace, but check your PMs.

Check my PMS? Up yours!!

Ah...I'm sorry...I'm bored. I'm three and a half hours into a 15 hour shift and I've already got nothing better to do than harass bystanders on the myriad boards I patrol.
You could help me figure out why the marshmellows in Lucky Charms and Swiss Miss Hot Chocolate taste exactly the same...you know, just if you're *that* bored.

 Oh damn, Neil, that one did me in...
Sorry not to chime in much earlier before this kerfuffle played out (I pretty much just got back online after four months without). I asked my guy after the Seattle show about Europe and he said it's in the works. He didn't guarantee anything, but he said they do want to try for Europe in 2005.
