Has anyone gotten any official word on this yet. The show still appears on <!-- w --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.thehip.com">www.thehip.com</a><!-- w -->. Has anyone gotten an email from the hip yet. Here we are like two weeks away from the show and no word. This is shit, do we get a refund? What about all the plans made. I booked off from work to go to this show. Had I not been a member of hipbase I would still have no idea this show is cancelled. Bushleague!
I just followed the link to purchase tix for Brandon. I got the option to purchase the exact tix I bought weeks ago. Same section, row and seats! This whole situation is unreal.

I just followed the link through the Hip's website and ticketmaster says *cancelled*. I guess thats that, sorry about your luck, thats a bummer.
Holy cow. I didn't know that they cancelled the Brandon show. I was just thinking today that I might make the trip from Winnipeg out there for the show. Thank goodness for this group.

"Scheduling conflict" was Ticketmaster's reason when I phoned. That must mean it's too much of a hassle to go play three songs at the Grey Cup in Ottawa late Sunday afternoon and then come back west to Brandon for a show Monday.
I'm a bit bothered by this as are a few other people in other threads I've seen.
Any new news on this show regarding refunds, rescheduling, etc...? Anyone from Brandon have any more info?

When The Hip announced the 2004 tour, Brandon, MB was included. They hardly sold any tickets to the show (which was also the case in 2013). The show in 2004 was scheduled for Monday night, Winnipeg was Tuesday. Sometime after announcing the show I guess they got an offer to play the Grey Cup halftime show on the Sunday and Brandon was not initially cancelled, but eventually was cancelled only a few weeks before the show. I have a feeling if tickets had sold better the cancelation would not have happened. I remember writing a thread on here at the time about how disappointed I was in the band for doing this.
2004 was a weird time. I think the band had new/different management and fans weren't getting the same access to info we were used to. In the mid-late 90s and even for Music @ Work, The Hip were always ahead of the curve with how they used the web and promoted themselves. I remember the record rolled out with a small handful of summer dates, and the Canadian tour wasn't announced until after Labour Day. I think after Music @ Work leaked the band did a shitty job promoting IVL and IBE.
