well the Sox are very much alive and i didnt regret making the decision i made. I really didnt think about the concert at all and after reading the setlist i wasnt too disappointed. I mean christ they didnt break out Waltz for Juliette or anything crazy like that, that would have made me shoot myself.

Wow. Comebacks don't get weaker than that.

It doesn't change the fact that the Leafs OWN the Sens.
Here's hoping for another 5 hour game tonight, cause I'm going to the concert. I'll bring my phone and try to get some updates. WHo knows, maybe the band wants to see the game too?
Geez.. the name of this thread is so misleading! :x

That happens when men gather around to discuss sports, Kim. Not our fault we mix up sports and love, just wired that way!
purely plutonic, I assure you.
It's impossible for the Leafs and Sens to play in the Cup finals...

Obviously. That's why the point stands. Even "if," I aint missing the Hip...
Has anybody considered that if the NHL lockout results in contraction, a lot more teams from the American Southeast would be lost than anywhere else? In effect, we would have an imbalance of Western teams, and the Leafs would probably be sent back to the western conference. That would be a dream come true, because they couldn't even make the playoffs there! Of course, it would make a Stanley Cup Final between the Leafs and Sens possible, but since the Leafs can't seem to beat any other team in the playoffs, they wouldn't make it that far.

Umm, how do you figure that the Leafs wouldn't make the playoffs if they were in the west? They play a wide open style, like most western teams do (and unlike the boring trapping Sens), and they own the teams in western Canada. I can't tell you how many 'nucks/Leafs games I went to when I lived in Vancouver when the Leafs whipped 'em - including last season. And if the Canucks are among the elite of the west, then something tells me the Leafs would do just fine.

Man, your hatred of the Leafs really distorts any objective viewpoint you should have, eh? That's too bad.

Oh yeah, forgot to add: Leafs 4, Sens 0.
Well...uh...the Leafs really suffered in the years before they moved from the West. If you look at the playoff history, there is a clear line between not making the post season and doing so, which pretty much coincides with being moved into the east. I only know this because my friend who is a Leafs fan mentioned it. I found a chart that says as follows:

Last four years in the west: Lost Round 1, Lost Round 1, failed to qualify, failed to qualify.
First four years in east: Lost Round 3, Lost Round 2, Lost Round 2, Lost Round 2.

Looks like the East was a heck of a lot kinder to them...not a "distorted viewpoint" by any means, ferney.
And here I was thinking having Mike Ridley as our second-line centre and Felix (better look behind me to make sure the puck is in the net) Potvin as our goalie was the reason the Leafs didn't make the playoffs in our last two years in the west. Dumb me.
