Don't know if anyone caught the rendition of "God Bless America" during the 7th inning stretch of the Sox/Yankees game. I haven't seen a more pathetic display in a while. I noticed that the camera stayed away from closeups for the last half of the song. What a crock! People can laugh all they want and criticize people like Gord Downie for being off key while singing but at least Gord sang the song. He wasn't a coward by pre-taping a version and then faking it the whole way through. Sorry for the rant but I get pissed off when no talent hacks like this particular woman make it on television. If you can't perform live you have no right to be in the business.
I hate fake singing like that, It makes me sick, Im looking at you Britney!!!! :rambo: Making people pay 80 bucks or more to hear your cd playing while you dance and pretend to sing along. For shame!
Give that advice to Paulina Gretzky... :rambo:

...Yeah, I fully know how wrong that is...
that balding idiot from canadian idol faked the cdn.national anthem at grey cup in regina last year
I'm not a big fan of anthems at sporting events. I'll get that out of the way first. BUT BUT BUT, if the anthem has to be sung I think that out of respect it should be SUNG. I think faking it shows a lack of respect for the country's anthem and is shameful.
Was than the Malcolm fella?
yeah...malcolm...what a disgrace!
I saw that last night and could not believe how bad it was.
I was trying to figure out what she was singing - her lips were not even in the same universe of the lyrics - I swear to god she was singing some other song.
Frig, I've stopped expecting "artists" to actually perform at big events. If they can't play an instrument, write their own songs, or even sing very well. why would we expect any more from them than a fake performance?
There is a tremendous echo at Fenway Park. You could really hear it with the announcer. I'm not too sure if she was lip-synching, or if the TV time delay and the echo that played a part in that incident.
I heard the announcers echo also, Andre - but this was so far off - I could not even match one word to her lips.

Sad thing is, this is the justification they use for lip-synching.
Pretty pathetic when people don't want to see live performance when they go to, um, a "live" performance, but that's where we are today.
