I don't see any country artists on there like Hank Williams or any FEMALE artists.
I think he's got a good selection up there.

Can we vote for more than one?
Way too many good artists to make a choice here.

Gord is very good solo, but he has not made his mark like the other artists have. He need to start wearing crazy sunglasses or get caught sppeding, then rehab. Then he can make the list.

or maybe he could find a crazy asian chick to have an affair and do mind expanding substances with...

Buddy Holly is the shit, he is sooo sooooooo vital and important to rock & roll.
Tom Petty may not be as influential as the rest, but he is one hell of a songwriter, and his longevity played a huge factor in his inclusion. as for Ozzy, there's only one Ozzy, and NO ONE, but NO ONE gets a crowd going like the Ozzman. would a world without Ozzy really be a world we'd want to live in?

I don't really know that Buddy Holly is all that. I would say Chuck Berry fills that role on the roster of influential musicians on rock and roll. Chuck Berry is the SHIT...and I ain't shittin' ya! I mean, to listen to a song like Deep Feeling, Buddy Holly never wrote anything with even 1% as much soul and grit.

BTW people C'MON! VOTE FOR HENDRIX! Hendrix had more raw talent in his pinky than the rest of those guys combined! the music flowed through him like he was recieiving transmissions from a distant galaxy and broadcasting them through his strat and straight into your brain! so soulful, so much passion, the riffs, the licks, the wonderful noise noise noise!

I don't know about greatest ever... these things are always way too subjective... but from that list I picked Hendrix.
His legacy and legend and unending "cool" remain, and his stunning stage presence was one of a kind... I can't even count the number of times I've been to shows where somebody has done something wild with their guitar, like play it behind their head, or with their teeth...
Nobody ever says..."Wow, he's like Springsteen on the guitar!"
